Sriti Jha shared her happiness in a conversation with Amar Ujala, “The show is like magic for me. Ekta Kapoor has made the show with all the features and the show has taught me the real meaning of ‘Bhagya’. The show has brought together some of the best people in the industry which is a kind of luck only. It’s not every day that a show completes 2000 episodes and it is only due to the love and support of our audience.”

Zee Tv’s popular family drama Kumkum Bhagya, starring Sriti Jha and Shabir Ahluwalia, has been one of the most successful family dramas on Indian television. The show, which was aired in 2014, has been the talk of the town since its inception. And while the show has been known for its interesting twists in the plot, it is reported that Kumkum Bhagya is set to witness a two-year leap. While the leap will be bringing new twists to the show, lead pair Sriti and Shabir are quite excited about this new development.

Talking about the leap, Shabir said, “I’m proud to be a part of the Kumkum Bhagya family entertaining audiences as Abhi for seven years now and I must say that the upcoming leap is going to be one of the most significant, exciting developments on the show. While we’ve had a 7-year leap and a generation leap in the past, this one will literally turn our lives upside down and leave our fans astonished. The whole wedding drama will end on a cliff-hanger with Pragya meeting with an accident and the show taking a two-year leap. In the new chapter, I will be seen as a dejected man who’s lost all his passion in life. He will be seen as a fallen star with no money and no interest in fixing his life. Initially, his family was everything to him, but now he is least bothered and doesn’t care about anything but himself and his compulsive need for alcohol. To find out what could have possibly led Abhi to this state, viewers will have to wait and watch our upcoming leap!”

Sriti Jha also added, "The leap holds a lot of excitement for our audiences as Abhi and Pragya's Bhagyas are all set to change completely. While Abhi will be seen as a broken man who's taken to the bottle, viewers will see my character turn into a powerful corporate professional at a multinational company in another country. I look forward to seeing the audience’s reaction to the leap."

Kumkum Bhagya is undoubtedly one of the biggest and the most popular shows on Indian Television and as rightly so. After all, Pragya played by Sriti Jha and Abhi played by Shabbir Ahuwallia look so endearing that the viewers can't help but stay hooked on their complicated love story. The show has been running for the last 6 years and what's brilliant is that despite the long tenure, it continues to take the top spot on the TRP charts, week after week. Although currently, Kumkum Bhagya shoot is on halt like all other shows due to the lockdown, it's still a favorite among fans who are desperately waiting for its return.

Sriti Jha recently interacted with a news portal and spoke at length on what has kept her connected to Kumkum Bhagya so deeply that despite being a part of it for the last 6 years, she hasn't gotten bored of playing the same character. She elaborated on how her character keeps transforming every 8 months and that makes it 'interesting' for her. She even confessed that she is 'more comfortable than being bored and that's what works in favor of her on the sets of Kumkum Bhagya.

"It doesn't actually because fortunately with Kumkum Bhagya and my character Pragya, something big comes through every 8 months, and there is a transformation. So the character keeps evolving and that is very interesting. Also, I think in a daily soap, I have this habit of playing each day of the character, and I have been comfortable in that space. Because I haven't got that to do with other shows, this is my first show where I have known every day of Pragya, so I am more comfortable than being bored", the actress was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, in the same interaction, Sriti also commented on her chemistry with Shabbir stating that their characters Abhi and Pragya are 'hopelessly attracted to each other despite being so different from each other. She feels that Abhi and Pragya's characters have been written as such that even if they are not together, they are connected and continue to understand each other like nobody else.

Sriti Jha is waiting for the shoot to resume. Kumkum Bhagya and a few other shows were supposed to go on floors today but  CINTAA (Cine and Television Artistes Association) and FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) canceled the shoots because there is no surety on key issues like sanitization, safety, payment schedule, pending dues, insurance, and shift timings.

During ‘Confessions of a Romantic Asexual’ at the Kommune Spoken Fest in Mumbai, she narrated her feeling through a poem. She said in the poem that she learned to lie in 'words and moans'. A part of her poem read, 'You can feel all the butterflies and your heart skip a beat for someone and yet not want to do it. Does that make your love any less? Does that make you incomplete?' She then sang a song by Backstreet Boys. The song was 'I am asexual, I am not the only one'.

Kumkum Bhagya fans are super upset for many reasons. First of all, they have complained about how Abhi (Shabir Ahluwalia) and Pragya (Sriti Jha) hardly look 60-years-old. The two actresses Naina Singh (Rhea) and Prachi (Mugdha Chaphekar) hardly look like Sriti Jha's daughters. In the show, she will be shown as a caterer and the same has left fans fuming as at the start we saw Sriti aka Pragya as a college professor who is pursuing her Ph.D. Later, she landed a job as his receptionist. Now, the news of her doing a catering job is floating and fans are very upset with the same.

'Kumkum Bhagya' is coming up with an interesting twist in the lives of lead characters 'Abhi' played by Shabbir Ahluwalia and 'Pragya' who is depicted by Sriti Jha who was married earlier but they parted because 'Pragya' was shown as dead. But later in the show, there was a two-year leap. Now both will tie the knot again though this time it will be a contract marriage.

Sriti Jha who plays the role of 'Pragya' said: "The twist will surely take everyone by surprise as Abhi and Pragya's union happens in the most unexpected scenario. Their luck is all set to change, and I am looking forward to seeing the audience's reaction to the leap."

Abhi is a far cry from the dynamic and dashing man he once was, while Pragya has turned into a powerful figure in a multinational company in Australia. Though she's returned to India to seek revenge from Abhi, Pragya, unfortunately, gets caught in a mess with Gaurav (Jatin Shah) making false allegations against her. However, this does not go unnoticed by Abhi.

In an attempt to prove her innocence, Pragya now needs to get close to Abhi once again and get him to testify and save her. But will he agree?

While Abhi and Pragya are married again, both of them have different motives! Will Abhi take his revenge on Pragya? Will she be able to convince him to tell the truth and save herself from the charges? Only time will tell!

Television actress Sriti Jha who is known for playing the role of Pragya in the popular daily soap Kumkum Bhagya also has the talent for reciting poetry. She knows how to express her emotions by playing with the words correctly. Her poetic side has gone viral on the internet a lot of times before but this time the one that has caught everyone's attention is quite emotional. In the video, she can be seen speaking her heart out about how being an asexual feels. Titled 'Confessions of a Romantic Asexual,' the video was shot in January 2020 at the Spoken Fest in Mumbai. In the same, Sriti can be seen expressing how sex doesn't do anything for her but kissing and hugging do.

Not just sharing experiences, Sriti even urged people to not try to change or ‘fix’ them, and spoke about 'learning to lie in words and in moans'.Not only this, but she even sang the Backstreet Boys' song Everybody but with a twist. The poem ended with a line reading, "I am asexual, I’m not the only one."

One of the most popular shows that reign on the TRP list,  Kumkum Bhagya has successfully completed 6 years today, April 16. The protagonists of the show, Shabir Ahluwalia, and Sriti Jha have taken a trip down memory lane and shared a post filled with immense gratitude.

Shabir Ahluwalia shared a shot of himself from KumKum Bhagya and wrote: "Happy 6th birthday kumkum bhagya. Sriti Jha also got all nostalgic and in her own style she penned down her feelings as Kumkum Bhagya completes 6 years. Here's what she wrote: "Kumkum Bhagya has been our home and my heart for six years now... this is a forever kinda story it seems. I’ve spent my day seeing so many edits and it has been such a pleasant ride of memories...Thank you so much for all the love. And as soon as we’re out of the present crisis. Jhoomenge Phir Se Dono Yaar.
