Sooraj Pancholi, while reacting to the transfer of his trial to the Special CBI court, reportedly said he feels satisfied as he hopes to receive closure in the Jiah Khan death case. The actor claims he should be penalized if found guilty by the court. However, if found innocent he should be set free from all the charges. Sooraj’s family also reportedly hopes the court will expedite his case.

In a report by Bombay Times, the Hero actor said, “I am a little satisfied with this because my case should have been in the special CBI Court from the beginning. Now that the matter is in the CBI Court, I am hopeful that we will see closure to this. If the court finds me guilty, I should be penalized, but if it doesn’t, I deserve to be set free from these charges.” Further on, Sooraj reportedly spoke about how his reputation has been tarnished over the years and praised his family for supporting him to survive the last eight years.

“This period has been tough for me. I trust that there will be light at the end of this tunnel. It has been tough on me because the industry and everything around it works on perception and the perception about me has not been what I would have liked it to be. It was ruined years ago. I don’t know how I survived the last eight years; my family’s support has seen me through it all,” he noted. The Time to Dance actor is reportedly trying to stay optimistic by forgetting the experiences he had faced in the past years. Sooraj continued, “I have tried forgetting the experiences I have had through these years. My aim is to look ahead and move forward. My family is hopeful that the CBI Court will at least be expeditious with the case. ”

Jiah Khan reportedly passed away after hanging herself in her Juhu apartment on June 3, 2013. Just a few days after her death, a six-page long hand-written letter was procured from her residence allegedly addressed to Jiah’s boyfriend at the time, Sooraj Pancholi. The letter reportedly brought several revelations to the fore including abortion, a nervous breakdown due to an unhealthy relationship with Pancholi among more. Sooraj Pancholi made his debut with the film, Hero, and then, the actor was stuck in his own personal issues. Sooraj has been battling the legal case of Jiah Khan's suicide. Now, the actor will be seen in Stanley D’Costa’s Time To Dance, which will be produced by Remo D’souza and Salman Khan Films.

In an interview with a leading daily, the actor was asked why was there such a long gap between his debut film and second project? On this, Sooraj said, "The first film always chooses you, but you choose the second one. That’s one of the reasons it’s taken me so long. I didn’t just have to take care of movies. There were a lot of other things going on in my life, including the court case. So, I needed time. I’m actually happy that I did not take on any work that was offered to me. Had I accepted a film, I would have gotten lost. I needed some time to fight my own battles."

Talking about his new project, Pancholi said, "Time to Dance is happening, so I am extremely happy. I have forgotten the past and have moved on. See, no matter how hard you work, perception is something that rules this industry. Talent comes much later. That’s why I am cautious about what I say and whom I meet. Once a perception is built around you, even if you do bad work, people will forgive you for it."

Stating his fondness for dance, he said, "My first dance class was with Shiamak Davar when I was seven-eight years old. My mom insisted that I start learning to dance early because she’s a trained classical dancer. My father’s too tall to maneuver his body around. I want this movie to be a surprise for everyone in my family. I want to prove to my mom that I’m an amazing dancer."

"When I was young, I was a huge Michael Jackson fan, but I would dance only in front of the mirror, alone in my room. I got a wig for myself and a hat, too. My dad’s friend had also made me a black shiny MJ costume. I would watch the King of Pop’s songs on those big laserdiscs and dance. Whenever my mom would come to my room, I would stop. She always used to tell me ‘Beta, Mujhe Bhi dance dika. I never used to do it because I was so painfully shy. As she always wanted me to be a dancer, I’m extremely conscious when I’m in front of her. Also, I hated going to dance class back then. I would prefer karate. So, this film is for my mom," added the actor.

How did he come on board for the film? "Remo sir and I have been in touch. I was supposed to work with him, long back while I was shooting for Hero. It was a project on car racing. I don’t know what happened to it. We were supposed to start it right after A Flying Jatt. After a few months, he called me to his house and offered me this film. He narrated the story and I fell in love with it. He wanted to start a new franchise like ABCD. Since then, I have been dancing with my trainer at his office. At that point, the female lead hadn’t been decided. Things started rolling and then, Isabelle Kaif was introduced to Remo sir. It’s a beautiful romantic dance film which the audience hasn’t seen before and it’s a difficult one," said the actor.

Talking about the different types of dance routines he is training in, Sooraj said, "During Hero, I was a decent dancer. But now, I’m 10 times better. We are putting in 10-12 hours of rehearsal every day. We have about a few weeks to go on floors, now. We started at maybe 10 percent, now we are at 70. We have just two weeks to get to a 100. We are doing Hip Hop, Bachata, Contemporary Latin, and, of course, Bollywood. Along with that, we also have House, which is a new form of Hip Hop and I haven’t done that before. There are over 15 different styles of dance that we will showcase in the film. Isabelle is super fun and hard-working girl. As we have several lifts in the movie, we have to be muscular enough to hold each other. She makes my job easier because she’s a great dancer."

Jiah Khan’s mother, Rabia has welcomed the decision of moving Sooraj Pancholi’s trial to the Special CBI court. Sharing her ordeal, Rabia who has been striving for justice, reportedly claims that her innocent daughter would never take her own life. For her, this ‘wise’ decision has opened answers to the truth she has been seeking for 9 years. Rabia alleges that her daughter was ‘killed’ beyond a reasonable doubt.

In her recent interaction with the Times of India, Jiah Khan’s mother, said, “The innocent Jiah had no fault. A wise decision by the court now. CBI will retrieve evidence from Maharashtra police after nine years. CBI has Scarman's report, and experts' forensic report, they need to send evidence to forensics to analyze whether the ligature could imprint just injuries on Jiah. We expect applaudable answers to the truth because Jiah would never take her life, and she was killed beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Now, the transfer of Sooraj Pancholi’s trial to the Special CBI court is a new development in the Jiah Khan’s death case.

Speaking of Jiah's Bollywood career, she had starred alongside Aamir Khan in the action-thriller Ghajini. Jiah also played a brief role in Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, and Deepika Padukone's starrer comedy film, Housefull. In Jiah Khan’s case, Sooraj Pancholi’s trial has been shifted to a special CBI court. Jiah Khan’s case was probed by Mumbai Police and the Central Bureau of Investigation. In the latest interview with TOI, Sooraj’s mother Zarina Wahab said, “My son has suffered through this period and this was not fair to him. My husband and I and all our family members had faith in God and the judiciary.”

Speaking about Sooraj Pancholi and the family, Zarina said, “We wanted this trial to be expedited”. She further added, “Eight-nine years is a very long time. My son has suffered through this period and this was not fair to him. My husband and I and all our family members had faith in God and the judiciary. We all believe that if my son is guilty, he should be penalized, but if he is not, he must also get his clean chit from the Court. He should have the right to move on. I feel bad for my back for what he has endured. I also feel the pain of the mother who lost her daughter. Most parts of the last 10 years were terrible for us.”

Sooraj Pancholi had been accused in the Jiah Khan case, and this trial had been going on for a long time in the Sessions Court. Well, the latest update, in this case, would bring a smile to all the fans of the actor and his family. Reportedly, the trial in the Jiah Khan case has been moved to the CBI court this afternoon. The trial, in this case, had begun at the beginning of 2019, but with this move, the trial will finally take place and everyone will get closure soon.

According to a report in The Times Of India, Sooraj Pancholi's lawyer, Advocate Prashant Patil, said, “The order granted by the Hon’ble Sessions Court to transfer the said case to Special CBI Court is a welcome move for my client, Sooraj Pancholi. We have been moving applications since the beginning of the trial to expedite the case and decide the matter on its merits within six months. Our applications were allowed. Even then, the trial proceedings were delayed. We then moved a Writ Petition before the Hon’ble Bombay High Court for expediting the trial and concluding it within six months.”

He further continued, “The matter now is transferred to Hon’ble CBI Court, which according to law, is the correct legal position.” Sooraj Pancholi's lawyer was confident that now the case shall be expeditiously conducted and concluded. He further said that if the prosecution has faith in their allegations, they should conduct a day-to-day basis trial and prove Sooraj guilty. The lawyer concluded by saying that on the next date, they would move an application to expedite proceedings of the trial on a day-to-day basis before the Hon’ble CBI Court.

This is the first time Sooraj was working with newcomer and Katrina Kaif's sister Isabelle, and the long hours of rehearsals helped them become buddies within three days, he told IANS"The fact is both of us were learning a new dance form, and in Latin-ballroom form, you are always holding the hand of your dance partner. Since we were not friends before, it was initially awkward. On the dance floor, both of us were making mistakes and falling, and then we would start laughing at the whole situation! So yes, we laughed it off and realized we were in the same boat. It helped us to understand how we as dancers can support each other while doing steps. I would say, with the long hours of rehearsal, in three days, we became good buddies," said Sooraj.

With "Time To Dance", Sooraj is back trying his luck at the box office for the third time, after his romantic debut Hero (2015) and the 2019 action drama Satellite Shankar failed to make much of an impact."I have never acted in a film that required me to dance that much because I have only been part of action and drama films. But one day Remo D'Souza called me and said he had a story idea for a dance film, but it was not a Bollywood dance, hip-hop, or any other popular dance form that we see in films. It had everything to do with street dance and Latin ballroom. Initially, I was excited because I thought I would learn something different. Secretly I always wanted to be part of a dance film, though I never got a chance," Sooraj said.

However, things were different when he started rehearsing."After one week of understanding the dance form and I realized Latin dance is tough to learn, and I was supposed to play a professional dancer as a participant in a dance competition. But I am someone who gives up easily, so I extended my time of practice and worked hard to learn the form over three months," claimed Sooraj.

After releasing the teaser of the film, the makers of Isabelle Kaif and Sooraj Pancholi starrer Time to Dance have dropped the trailer today. Helmed by Stanley D'Costa and produced by Lizelle D'Souza, wife of ace choreographer and director Remo D'Souza, this film will introduce Latin dancing and ballroom for the first time to Indian viewers. This film marks Sooraj Pancholi's first film after the 2019 movie Satellite Shankar while it is Katrina Kaif's sister Isabelle’s debut film. The film will hit the big screens on March 12.

Sooraj Pancholi is the latest Bollywood celeb to have announced his exit from social media. The actor took to his Instagram account and uploaded a story revealing he will be stating he needs to breathe. His exit was announced after his name was linked to the deaths of Sushant Singh Rajput who passed away in June, and his one-time manager Disha Salian who died a few days prior to the late actor.

Sooraj and his family stated that they had no connection to the death of Disha and Sushant. They also filed a police complaint regarding this. Sooraj stated that he had never met Disha. On Friday, Sooraj took to his Instagram account and deleted all his posts except one that he had posted on his birthday in November 2018. Hopefully will see you someday when the world is a better place.” He added a heartbroken emoticon and folded hands emoticon along with the message. Below that he added, “I need to breathe #Suffocated.”

Despite sharing that he had no connection to the death of the late actor and his manager, Sooraj has found himself on the receiving end of abuse on social media. Meanwhile, after a global campaign, the Supreme Court ordered Mumbai Police to hand over all the evidence received over the months related to Sushant’s death case. The apex court also added that the FIR filed by Sushant’s dad in Patna was correct.

However, Sooraj has clarified that he has never met the celebrity manager. Now, Sooraj's mother Zarina Wahab has defended her son. The actress, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, reaffirmed that Sooraj has never met Disha. She also added that people are using Sooraj as a "punching bag" which isn't fair.

"I want to laugh it off as well as feel bad. People have so much free time during the lockdown, that they say anything about anyone. They are connecting past events, whereas he (Sooraj Pancholi) has never met that girl (Disha Salian). He keeps saying that he has not met her ever and still people do not believe," she said, referring to the statement and the interviews he has given in connection to the death.

"They know that he has no hand in this, but people have started using him as a punching bag. It is not fair. You sit at home and comment on anything about anyone and there are 10 other people reading it. Those reading it are innocent, they think what they are reading is right. The truth will definitely come out and whoever is guilty should be 100% punished,” Zarina added.

The Supreme Court, on August 19, ordered CBI to take over the probe into Sushant's death. Reacting to the news, Sooraj's father Aditya Pancholi told ETimes, "I welcome the Supreme Court’s judgment. It is not only about my son Sooraj Pancholi, but innocent people should also be relieved and the culprit should be arrested."

It seems like Sushant Singh Rajput’s case has become more baffling than ever. In the midst of all this, certain sections of people have tried linking the late actor’s death to his ex-manager Disha Salian’s death. The latter passed away after having fallen off her apartment in Malad on 8th June. A few days later, the country woke up to get a rude shock over the news of Sushant’s untimely demise. But there is another actor who got dragged in this matter. Yes, we are talking about Sooraj Pancholi here.

As per a report by Bombay Times, the actor has filed a complaint at the Versova Police Station on Monday, i.e. 10th August. He has allegedly

When he finally gets time off, Shankar goes on an epic road trip to his hometown, and along the way gets entangled in one adventure after another. been harassed by those who are carrying unverified news reports while linking him to Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. As per a source close to the actor, he has filed a complaint against certain sections of media, YouTubers, and some other people for spreading conspiracy theories and fake news on social media.

The same source has revealed that Sooraj wants the rumor mongers to be held accountable for his mental harassment and that they must also prove the charges against him.
