Sonu Kakkar Wiki, date of birth, Family, Husband, children, Biography & More
Sonu Kakkar is an Indian playback singer who not only works in the Hindi music .

Singer Sonu Kakkar had begun her Music journey as a reality show participant on the small screen and then went on to sing hits like 'London Thumakda' ('Queen'), 'Ooh La La ('Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan'), and others. In an interview with us, she talks about her more popular siblings Neha Kakkar and Tony Kakkar, the Bollywood music industry, whether it’s just talent that is needed to succeed, and more. Excerpts…Being the eldest sister of two very popular musicians - do you feel sidelined sometimes?
It happens with everyone. I have no complaints about that. I don't even feel side-lined at all. Success comes to everyone who works hard. It came to me as well. I have seen and lived the ups. I feel successful every day because I stay very happy. The definition of success for me is happiness. If you aren't happy then nothing can make you feel successful. I try and find happiness in small things. For example, if I am watching something on OTT platforms or eating my favorite cuisine, I feel so happy just with that. The little things make me really happy. I am very positive about everything that's happening with Tony and Neha. I am really proud of them and I have never felt sidelined at all.
I think talent is the most important thing to me. If the talent is average, it's impossible to survive in the long term. So talent is important eventually. But, it's not just talent, one also needs luck and not just in the music industry, but everywhere. Destiny is also important and they both then work together for us.
It’s not like that. I thank the critics who love me so much. They acknowledge my talent. I can never thank people enough. The love and acknowledgment that my fans give me saying things like Saraswati Maa of music and things like that… I feel so humbled and grateful to my fans for the love they have showered on me at all these levels I have got. Comparing between siblings is something I don't like and don't do at all. I don't believe in comparisons. We all have our own journeys and we enjoy each other's success as much as ours.
Kapil also asked Neha about her fake pregnancy announcement picture that she shared last year. “In between, Neha had shared a post on Instagram. She and Rohan were posing together with Neha showing off a baby bump and the caption was ‘Khyaal Rakhya Kar.’ I got so emotional, I've known her for years, so I commented on the post ‘God bless you.’”
“I even personally messaged her to send my wishes. She then told me, ‘Bhaiya, this is for a song,’” Kapil added. While Neha and Archana Purana Singh burst into loud laughs, Kapil could only show a disappointed face
Neha, Tony, and Sonu are all singers. Speaking to Mumbai Mirror about how Neha used to help them during their days of struggle, Tony had said in an interview, “Initially, only I and Sonu shifted to Mumbai, and Neha still used to perform in Rishikesh. The biggest task for us in Mumbai was house-hunting. We didn’t have enough money to buy a house so we used to stay in a small rented apartment. But the rent was skyrocketing and we have no fixed income as such. For the very first recording, Sonu got ₹500. The amount then kept on increasing steadily and somehow we managed to survive. Neha also sent us money from there."

She later relocated to Mumbai and competed in the singing reality show Indian Pop Star on Channel V. Despite the fact that Sonu did not win the award, she was noticed by music director Sandeep Chowta, who vowed to give her a chance to sing in one of his upcoming films.
In the year 2006, she married her husband, Neeraj Sharma, after three years in the music industry. She and Neeraj have been married for 14 years. They are happy with their lives in Mumbai, India. Sonu is now childless and concentrating on her education.
Sonu Kakkar began her singing career in 2003 with the film “Dum’s” song “Babuji Zaara Dheer Chalo.” She went on to lend her voice to the songs Seduction Saavariya, Ishq Da Tadka, Kar Mundya, and Lawani in the following years. Her song “Urban Munda,” which she released in 2014, was a huge hit.
Sonu has performed songs in a variety of languages. She made her Kannada debut. The song “Pavan Laa” from the film “Kokila” marked Telugu’s debut. With the song “Dhinam Dhinam Deepavali” from the film “Varalaru,” he made his Tamil debut.

Her passion for music is indefatigable as her unabashedly powerful voice has earned and justified every song she’s sung. The petite Sonu speaks about her journey as a singer. Excerpts from a chat
You seem to have come a long way after your debut song Babuji. How has your journey been in Bollywood since? It’s been wonderful because the kind of songs I have got in Bollywood are lovely songs. From ' Babuji'… to ' Aali Re' from ' No One Killed Jessica', 'Ye Kasoor' from 'Jism 2', 'Hip Hip Hurray' from ' Meri Dad Ki Maruti' — I’m fortunate to have had such a variety of songs in my kitty
I love Sufi music and that’s the reason why I’m such a big fan of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. I absolutely love his Qawwalis and Sufi songs. And that’s the reason I came up with my album 'Heer — the Sufi Soul'. This album has a song ' Mahi Bin' for which I got an award.
In India, Bollywood music enjoys a mass appeal while independent/non-film music has a niche audience. My non-film song Madari got a great response, so people do like non-film music too. Now a lot of artists are coming up with indie albums and I think slowly non-film music is catching up. As a singer, I enjoy doing both film and non-film music and have no favorites. You can’t ask a mom which child is her favorite. I like independent music because we have a lot of creative freedom to what we want, but when it comes to films we have to give a particular feel to a song because it’s situational. Being an artist I love to sing and I give my music to the audience and let them decide.
My brother is a composer, he composed music for my album Heer — the Sufi Soul and when your brother does something as a composer which you have to sing then he has the liberty to scold too (laughs). As a composer, he has the power to tell me exactly how he wants me to sing a song. Our relationship is very strong and it’s evident when we work together. Neha is a fantastic singer. We are always there for each other and I am really lucky to have them around me.
