Surprising the Telugu singer, Deverkonda had said in the video, “Today, is the finale. Forget winning. Forget losing. Forget everything. Just have a blast. Give it your all, own that stage and completely enjoy the show. I send all my wishes to the contestants and judges. Shanmukha Priya, you are coming back to Hyderabad and meeting me. You are singing for me in my film. It’s a deal. Good luck.”
And now, in a video shared by Dharma Productions, Vijay Deverkonda is seen greeting Shanmukha and her mother at his residence. The actor informed her that he and director Puri Jagannadh had watched some of her videos and decided to get her on board for his much anticipated pan India project Liger. He also tells her that he fulfilled his promise, to which the Indian Idol 12 finalist said, “and so soon”.
Talking about the song, Deverkonda told Shanmukha that it was a perfect composition for her, and he promised to hear it once the final mixing is done. In the video, we also get to see Shanmukha recording the song and expressing her excitement. Deverkonda’s mother even felicitated the singer and presented her with some gifts.
Ananya Panday will star opposite Vijay Deverkonda in Liger, which is jointly produced by Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta under Puri Connects and Dharma Productions banners. The film will release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Shanmukha Priya’s mother Ratnamala also shared her take on the whole episode. “Shanmukha is trying to experiment with genres. As far as the choice of songs is concerned, all the contestants in Indian Idol perform the tracks given to them by the showrunners. Despite receiving criticism, she has been fortunate to get double the love and affection from the viewers,” she said.
Earlier, Indian Idol 12 host Aditya Narayan had also addressed trolling, saying the contestants are learning to receive and handle criticism at an early stage of their careers. “Accha hai. They are getting to know the harsh reality of the world outside the reality show. As their fans grow, so will the critics. It is inevitable,” he had said while reiterating that the show ‘is the no.1 reality show for 26 weeks running. “Do I need to defend it?” he had asked.
Indin Idol 12has been under scrutiny ever since the Kishore Kumar special episode was slammed by Netizens. The legendary singer's son Amit Kumar, who was a special guest on the show, in an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, had said he did not like the episode and also that he was asked to praise the contestants.
The contestants paid a tribute to veteran musician Shravan Rathod. Contestant Shanmukhapriya sang the song, 'Humko Sirf Tumse Pyaar Hai', and was panned by the netizens for "ruining" the cult song.

The young singing sensation is overwhelmed with the adulation coming her way and is excited about the grand finale. “I am just super excited for the finale because this is going to be virtual and it is historic as it is happening for the first time,” she added. Speaking about her journey on Indian Idol 12, Shanmukhapriya stated, “My journey on Indian Idol 12 has been amazing. If I have to say one word, it is a milestone I would say. I have got to learn so many things and I am so grateful I got an opportunity to be a part of it. It is an iconic show and since childhood, I have been watching it and now I am in the grand finale, I am so happy and grateful.”
Interestingly, social media trolls have been a part and parcel of a contestant's life when it comes to reality shows and for Shanmukhapriya, it was not different. However, the young diva stated that while everyone is entitled to have an opinion, she is planning to work hard and make her haters turn into her supporters. “Everybody has their own choice, review, mindset and how they look into things and everybody has their own opinion. So, I really respect their review and I really love them a lot. At the same time, I am going to concentrate more on my singing and what I do and will try to improve my singing level and maybe the time will come when they will start liking me,” she explained.
Shanmukhapriya also went on to share the biggest advice that she has got during her journey on Indian Idol 12 and revealed that it came from Zeenat Aman. She stated that the veteran actress asked her to continue believing in herself and do what she wants to do irrespective of what people said. To note, Shanmukha will be competing with Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal, Mohd Danish, Sayli Kamle and Nihal Turao during the grand finale.
The singing reality shows Indian Idol's final episode will be aired on August 15 for 12 hours. The top six contestants are Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal, Mohd Danish, Sayli Kamble, Nihal Tauro and Shanmukhapriya. The makers have already released a promo and today a new video was released featuring Vijay Deverakonda.
