Indian Idol 12 contestant Sawai Bhatt was recently evicted from the musical reality show and while his departure from the show might have come as a piece of sad news for his fans, his hometown has welcomed him with open arms. Bhatt hails from Rajasthan’s Nagaur and recently, videos from his welcome to the town have been making waves on social media.

Bhatt got famous for his unique style of singing and garnered many fans, including Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter Navya Nanda. Navya was thoroughly impressed with Sawai’s rendition of Kailash Kher’s “Teri Deewani.”

I am encouraged by her support of my performances week on week. It definitely heightens my spirit and motivates me to perform better,” Sawai earlier told SpotboyE.

From her social media posts, it also seems like she is a fan of contestant Sawai Bhatt and has been rooting for him from the beginning. Sawai hails from Rajasthan’s Nagaur and works there as a puppeteer and singer.

The singer also expressed gratitude towards Indian Idol 12 for providing him a platform to showcase his talent to a wider audience.

Earlier too, Navya cheered for Sawai as he sang “Udja Kaale Kawan” from  Suuny Deol's film Gadar. Singer Udit Narayan, the special judge during the episode, also applauded Sawai for his ace singing skills and showered him with love.

A couple of months ago, Sawai wanted to quit the reality show since his mother was not keeping well. It was on the persuasion of judges, Vishal Dadlani and Himesh Reshammiya, that he agreed to stay and realize his dream of becoming a popular singer.

Indian Idol 12 has been embroiled in controversies from the beginning. After being criticized for allegedly ruining legendary  Kishore Kumar songs, the show faced the flak of the audience for evicting contestant Anjali Gaikwad. Her fans called her elimination unfair and asked the makers to bring her back on the show.

It's been three weeks since Nachiket Lele was eliminated from Indian Idol 12. Last week, it was being said that Anjali Gaikwad and Sawai Bhatt were in the danger zone according to various voting trends. However, Sawai's recent wish to quit the show citing personal problems had shocked the Indian Idol 12 judges. But it seems like Himesh Reshammiya has finally convinced Sawai to stay back on the show.

In a video shared by the makers of the singing reality show, Sawai had expressed leaving the show to be with his ailing mother who has not been keeping well for the past 3-to 4 months. Sawai told the judges that he doesn't think he could be able to go any further on the show. Fortunately, the channel has managed to change Sawai's mind assuring him that his parents can come and stay with him which will allow him to continue his Indian Idol 12 journey. 

"I had to convince Sawai to stay back. The channel has assured him that his parents can come to Mumbai and stay with him. This way, he can be with them as well as continue with his singing journey in the show," Himesh Reshammiya told TOI.

Sawai has been singing consistently well on the show. He has the potential to be the next Indian Idol. With his raw talent and the right songs, he can achieve a lot in his career. Sawai belongs to a small town of Rajasthan and that itself is a great inspiration for talents like him in small towns and villages to come forward and participate in music reality shows," he added.

Himesh also said that he plans to record a song with Sawai soon adding that he has already recorded songs with Pawandeep Rajan, Nihal Tauro, and Mohammad Danish. He said that he plans to launch them by giving them a platform since he has done it for people in the past and continues doing it in the future as well.

The mystery behind Indian Idol 12 elimination continues to keep fans guessing who will be evicted from the singing reality show this week. A few days ago everyone was shocked when Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda revealed her favorite Indian Idol 12 contestant. However, things came to a shocking turn in the Sunday episode of the show when one of the popular contestants Sawai Bhatt revealed that he wishes to leave the show.

Recently, two contestants, Ashish Kulkarni and Pawandeep Rajan from Indian Idol 12tested positive for COVID-19 and are currently under hotel quarantine. The host of the show Aditya Narayan had also shared that he tested COVID-19 positive on April 3 and is currently under home quarantine with Rithwik Dhanjani substituting him as a host until Aditya recovers. Ashish and Pawandeep have now tested negative and will soon be resuming their participation in the show.

Sawai became more fond of music, he started learning music from a very young age and thought of doing something different based on his voice. Sawai began singing on the stage of various programs and began supporting his family. His friends were more impressed with Sawai’s anthem and suggested Sawai audition for the popular singing reality show Indian Idol season 12. Due to lack of money, Sawai made up his mind not to audition for Indian Idol, but his friends told him that he could audition through mobile as well. Sawai somehow auditioned from his mobile.

Sawai Bhatt has a healthy physique and he is 5 feet 8 inches (172 cm) tall. Describing more about body fitness his weight is around 60 Kg (135 lbs). Sawai Bhatt always keeps himself fit and he is very healthy and Conscious. Sawai Bhatt was born into a very poor Hindu family in 1998 in Gachchipura, a small village in Nagaur, Rajasthan, India. As of 2021, Sawai’s age is 23 years old. Apart from his parents, Sawai has 4 younger siblings in his family. His grandfather is Khairati Lal Bhatt and his father Ramesh Bhatt goes from village to village to show the game of puppetry. Sawai’s mother’s name is Sushila Devi Bhatt, who is a homemaker. Due to poverty, his father did not send him to school. Sawai and his father run a puppet show in different-different villages to earn a living. Sawai is not in any relationship yet and the reason is that he wants to focus on her career right now.

Sawai started his career at an early age. Bhatt started doing puppet shows where he sang for puppets and make puppets dance with his finger skills. But he said that the business of the Puppet show was slowly closing down due to this modern era where everyone loves mobiles and technology. He is facing a lot of difficulty in his living life. But even in this difficult situation, Sawai did not give up and took the chance in a mobile audition for the famous Indian singing reality show “Indian Idol 12.”

He was selected for the audition round. Sawai gave his audition in front of popular singers named Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani, and Himesh Reshammiya. He presented the famous Rajasthan singing named “Keshariya Balam” in front of the judges in his audition. Indian Idol contestant Sawai Bhatt’s father saw him performing on such a big stage for the first time, he could not stop the tears of his happiness. He made the judges crazy with his singing skills. At first, got chosen for it but could not make it to the top fifteen and got eliminated. Sawai Bhatt was chosen and he was given full expenses to come and live in Mumbai, India from the channel. Sawai is winning the hearts of Indian Idol 12 judges and the public with his voice in Indian Idol.
