Ranjit Mallick was born on 28-09-1944 in Kolkata in the state of West Bengal, India. He is an Indian Film Actor, Sheriff & Blogger who mainly works in Bengali Cinema.

Ranjit Mallick Complete Bio & Career

Ranjit’s nickname is Ranju. Ranjit enrolled at Shyamaparasad College and Ashutosh College for advanced studies. It was art film director Mrinal Sen who offered him his maiden role in a Bengali film called Interview in1971. Soon, he started playing lead hero roles and became one of the most sought-after actors to play romantic roles.

The whole decade of the 1970s, Ranjit Mallick played romantic hero roles and after that, he was seen playing either the supporting or character roles. He was also a successful action hero. His performance in films such as Mouchak, Amader Songs, Guru Dakshina, and Raag Anuraag, and Devi Chaudharani among others are well-known.

In his illustrious career, he got an opportunity to work with the academy award winner director Satyajit Ray in his project Shakha Proshakha. In a four-decade-long career, he has acted in 175 films.

For his contribution to the field of acting, he has been honored with various awards. He has earned the International Best Actor Award from Karlovy Vary. Among other awards, he is a proud recipient of the Kalakar Awards and also the government of West Bengal conferred him with the Banga Bibhushan award in 2012.
