Dancer Raghav’s stage name is Crockroaxz describes Raghav’s dancing style which is a combination of being ‘power such as crocodile’ and ‘creepy such as a cockroach’. Raghav Juyal, who participated in DID in 2012, was well-liked due to his slow-motion dance form. He could not become the winner of DID at that time, but he definitely made a place in the hearts of people. This is the reason why despite being unable to become a winner in DID, Raghav is constantly moving forward on the path of success. Today he is a big name in the film and TV industry.

From being a skilled dancer to the most entertaining host, there is no one like Raghav Juyal. He came into the limelight with the show Dance India Dance 3 in 2012. He went to be part of DID Li'l Masters and Dance Ke Superkids as the skipper. The actor-dancer is from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, and prefers to keep his personal life private. He recently shared pictures of his brother’s engagement ceremony.

In the pictures shared by the actor, Raghav is seen dancing and partying with his brother Yashasvi Juyal and sister-in-law, IPS Rachita. He also shared some adorable snaps of the newly engaged couple. He wrote in the caption, “my strengths and weaknesses”.

Celebs took to the comment section to congratulate the couple, Ruhaan Braradwaj wrote, “Congratulations to both of you”. Saumya Tandon commented, “This is a big surprise….you engaged. Huge Congratulations”, Sneha Gupta commented, “Bahut Bahut Mubarak”, Malvika Mohanan commented, “Areh is”. Fans of the actor also congratulated the couple and dropped heart emojis on the post.

Actor-dancer Raghav Juyal on Wednesday said he has tested positive for Coronavirus, and asked people who came in contact with him in the last few days to get themselves tested. The actor, currently seen hosting Colors reality show Dance Deewane 3, took to Instagram to share his  Covid 19 diagnosis. “After experiencing fever and cough, I have just tested positive for COVID. All those who’ve been in contact with me recently, please take care and follow all protocols, stay safe guys,” he wrote alongside a note that read the same.

Until early April, Raghav was shooting for Dance Deewane 3 alongside Madhuri Dixit, Dharmesh Yelande, and Tushar Kalia. But as Covid-19 cases began to peak in Maharashtra, the government prohibited film and TV shoots in the state for 15 days till May 1. The curfew, however, didn’t affect Dance Deewane 3 as the makers had a bank of episodes to last the period.

Even though Raghav Juyal is unwell, the actor has been posting lists of Covid-19 resources, and also amplifying requests from followers for oxygen supply, plasma, and hospital beds.

In the biggest daily increase yet, India reported 2.95 lakh cases of the novel coronavirus and 2,023 deaths in the 24 hours ending 9 am Wednesday. India’s Covid-19 tally is now 1,56,16,130, with a death toll of 1,82,553. There are 21,57,538 active cases in the country.

Anchor-choreographer-actor Raghav Juyal, who was hosting the dance reality show  Dance Deewane, will no longer be associated with the show. Raghav has opted out because he is keen to join the upcoming show, Dance +, as a host.

Raghav says, “I feel comfortable when I am hosting Dance +. Dance Deewane got extended and my contract was getting over. I didn’t think the show would get an extension and I like hosting shows, which run for a stipulated period of time. Ideally, a music or dance reality show shouldn’t be extended like a daily soap. I had my commitment with Dance + and I will also be busy shooting for Farhan Akhtar's film. So, I had no choice, but to opt-out of Dance Deewane."

Raghav also says that he enjoys anchoring shows that have talented dancers. He says, “I have been a host on Dance + ever since it commenced on television. Remo D'Souza and  Shakti Mohan are like family to me. Besides, they have brilliant dancers. So, in a way, there is a lot to contribute and learn from the show. I don't like dance shows that turn into a sangeet night. I prefer to connect with shows that have innovative dance forms in them. Having said that, Dance Deewane had brilliant dancers and I enjoyed my stint on it.”

Earlier, too, Raghav had taken a break from the show because he wanted to help people during the pandemic in his hometown. Ask him if that was a sign of him wanting to opt-out of the show and he says, “No, I had wanted to go to my hometown because I was not in a mood to sing and dance during the pandemic. When I returned to Mumbai, I shot for a few episodes, but then I had to start shooting the auditions for Dance +.”

The earlier seasons of Dance Deewane were anchored by Arjun Bijlani. This year, Arjun was replaced by Raghav Juyal. However, while Raghav has opted out, Bharti Singh and  Harsh Limbachiyaa will continue hosting the show.

In shares about Hasal, Raghav revealed, "I feel the concept of Hasal is very unique and different to date. According to me, it's a dark musical and intriguing. It’s about darkness prevailing in every human’s life some have the courage to thrive with it, some have the courage to find the obscure parts of themselves, some hustle to stand out and shine like the moon, and some have the fire of revenge. It is a hustle story of four lives and their struggle to live."

Dancer and actor Raghav Juyal says there might be some people who are into drugs but the entire thing has been generalized and judgments are being passed on social media. The drug controversy that has shaken the film industry seems to be creeping into the lives of not just actors but their families, too. Dancer-actor, Raghav Juyal recently took to social media to share an unpleasant incident that his family in Dehradun went through amid this ongoing expose about the Bollywood drug mafia.

“My brother has been getting these painful boils of late. So, along with my mother, he went to see a doctor. The doctor knows about me and that my brother is an independent filmmaker. Before even checking his problem, the doctor said, ‘Arrey tum Bombay see kab Wapas Aaye, Tumhare Bhai Bhi hai Na Wahan pe? Suno tum log na drugs lena bandh karo’,” he shares.Juyal shares that his mother was shocked and even tried reasoning with the doctor that her son doesn’t consume any such things. But the doctor refused to believe her.

He adds all these comments are affecting his family’s mental and physical health. “There might be some people who’re into drugs, but the entire thing has been generalized. It seems people are being brainwashed into believing that the whole industry is into drugs,” he says.

The 28-year-old feels a certain section of the media and social media are in a way creating these misunderstandings.

“Things are getting so toxic. On TV, what’s mostly being discussed is drugs in Bollywood. Why aren’t we talking about GDP, economy slowdown, world peace, corona, farmer problems, etc? Such news is affecting the youth, especially teenagers who’re at an impressionable age,” he says, further calling out social media trials.

“I don’t understand these people passing these judgments on social media. We have a judiciary to do that, right? Opinions and discussions are fine but these threats, abuses, and trials on social media are going to another level,” he opines.

Reacting to the narratives around other biases in Bollywood, Juyal says he doesn’t pay much heed to all these and insists that nepotism and favoritism exist in every sector.

“Neither I’m a Kapoor nor a Dhawan, so I knew my journey would be difficult. If you’re aiming at just showing off your body or to work in Karan Johar films, or to attend those big parties, then it’s something else. My aim is to better my craft and satisfy my creative urge. To do that, there are several filmmakers I can work with, so why worry or crib?” ends Juyal.

Raghav Juyal is currently spending time with his family in Dehradun and plans to come to Mumbai only post-monsoon. He is known for his dancing and anchoring skills, but what many people don’t know is that Raghav is very passionate about acting, too. “Bachpan Se hi Thoda about Malakar the main, I have always loved performing,” he says.

Talking about becoming an actor, he shares, “Sonali Cable was my first film and after being a part of it, I realized that acting was so much fun. It’s very liberating. There are a lot of emotions within us, which we often don’t show. I have loved my journey so far. I remember the time when I decided to give acting a shot and started going for auditions. You have to take risks in life. So, I decided to give it a try and I am glad that I did.”

He has a couple of interesting projects lined up, both in Bollywood and the webspace, and he is looking forward to completing them once the shoots resume. But, for now, Raghav is making the best of his time in Dehradun. “I have this ability to switch off and on with ease. So, when I am working, I am totally into it, but when I’m at home, I can switch off completely and just live in the moment,” he signs off.

Raghav Juyal, who is popularly known as 'The King of Slow Motion, has struggled a lot like any other aspiring artist during his initial days. From being a participant in a dance reality show to performing as an actor on screen, this 29-year-old boy from Uttarakhand has surely come a long way. Being an actor was always on his mind and he considers himself lucky to get different kinds of roles early in his career. After doing the ABCD franchise, Raghav wanted to break his dancer image and kept looking for content-oriented roles. And his hard work paid off when he bagged the role of an antagonist in the web series, Abhay 2, followed by a goofy character in the web film, Bahut Hua Samman.

In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Life, Raghav spoke at length about the success of his recently released film, Bahut Hua Samman (also starring Sanjay Mishra and Ram Kapoor), and how people have appreciated his performance. In the movie, he plays the role of a student named Boni, an adventure-loving, flamboyant character, who has mastered the art of conning people. And since Raghav has been getting praised for his portrayal, we asked him what went into the preparation of the role. "Me and my partner-in-crime, Abhishek Chauhan (who plays Fundoo), went to Banaras and spent time with young boys there. We learned a great deal about their behavior, which really helped me get into the skin of the character. Then Sanjay Mishra Ji was there to guide me throughout the shoot," he told us.

He continued, "We did a lot of reading in Mishra Ji's home in Mumbai. So we were totally ready for the shoot and how we would progress with our individual characters and storyline. I was very nervous thinking about sharing space with the likes of Sanjay Mishra, Ram Kapoor, and Namit Das when I initially bagged the film. But Mishra Ji made me really comfortable during our reading process. I used to go to him like a kid who wants to learn. We used to live in an ashram near Assi ghat to get the feel of the character. He taught me more about life and less about acting since living your life to the fullest is what everyone yearns for."

Raghav feels that one should not overthink what they will do in their lives. He said that he is someone who goes with the flow and takes things as they come, adding that he had initially come to Mumbai to become a background dancer. And whatever progress he has seen in his life, he calls it a 'bonus'. He says he always thrives to be a better artist and wants to learn more things that will open doors for him.

He is also someone who remains unperturbed by the behavior and perception of certain industry people against him. "I really don't care what industry people think about me. I only have a handful of friends like Dharmesh Bhai (choreographer Dharmesh Yelande) in the industry. I just finish my work and set off to my hometown, Garhwal. All my friends are there, not here. I don't want to fit into groups and attend Page 3 parties and hang out with unknown people. I hang out with my friends in Dehradun and come back for work. So I don't really care what people think about me even a bit. I just need to do good work, meet good people and live life respectfully," Raghav concluded.

A video featuring  Dance Deewane 3 host Raghav Juyal has attracted criticism from many including Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for being racist and cringe-inducing. The video has the host introducing a contestant from the state on the show with a monologue featuring words such as “momo”, “ching chong” and “gibberish Chinese”. Juyal has released a clarification and also apologized for hurting sentiments after the backlash.

In the video posted on his social media page, Juyal said people should see the bigger picture to understand the context of his interaction with the contestant, Gunjan Sinha. He said it’s important people understand the situation as being called a racist is affecting his mental health. Sharing that he has family and friends in the North-East, Raghav said that he not only respects people from the region but has also stood up for them.

Giving details of his actions, the host said that the child had told the creatives that she can speak  Chinese, which was largely gibberish. She termed it as her talent, and throughout the show, she would speak this made-up language in jest. “Towards the end of the show, I decided to speak in a similar way to introduce her in one of the episodes. It has been an inside joke on the show and one shouldn’t judge us with just that clip,” he shared.

Raghav further apologized to people in case he hurt people, stating that it was unintentional. He also urged everyone to see the entire show to get an understanding of his bond with Gunjan, and the intention behind the joke.

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma posted a tweet condemning the episode, saying that ‘racism has no place in our country. “It has come to my notice that a popular reality show host has used racist rhetoric against a young participant from Guwahati. This is shameful and totally unacceptable. Racism has no place in our country and we should all condemn it unequivocally,” he tweeted.

Many on social media also called out the show and Juyal. One person tweeted, “It’s 2021, but the #racist Indians still practicing “Chinese” “momo” “ching chong” #racism as a comic element on their national television with their #bollywood celebs applauding it. The racist host @TheRaghav_Juyal introducing Gunjan Sinha from Assam in a show on @ColorsTV.” While another added, ” If it had been against any other community on the big stage. There would’ve been a national news TV coverage by now. It's NORTHEAST so night what does it matter .”

However, this time the Badrinath Ki Dulhania actor’s Instagram post is making the headlines for a different reason as it is dedicated to his Street Dancer 3D co-star Raghav Juyal. The dancing star has turned 29 today and is being showered with immense love on social media while Varun shares a great bond with Raghav, he shared a quirky video of his co-star.

In the video, Raghav was seen imitating Suniel Shetty’s performance in Border wherein he was seen moving towards a tank holding an anti-tank mine. Raghav, who was wearing a black sweatshirt and jeans, was giving a similar performance but holding his jacket as he was moving toward his friends and screaming “Maa! Shakti”. Varun, who seemed to be shooting the video, captioned the video “Happy bday, @raghavjual love, u.” Interestingly, the Sui Dhaaga: Made in India actor has shared then screen space with Raghav twice in ABCD 2 and Street Dancer 3D and their chemistry is quite a fun thing to watch.

We all saw Raghav win hearts with loads of laughter and antics on the Star Plus dance reality show, Dance Plus, and its subsequent season. During our conversation with Dharmesh Yelande, we asked him if we will see the same craziness in Dance Deewane 3 and his answer is sure to put a smile on your face. He said, “Aisa hai ki jaise
jaise saal baad raha hai na waise waise pagalpanti badti jati hai Raghav ki. Toh yeh wala joh season hai, iske andar Raghav ki pagalpanti aur badne wali hai because ab Tushar bhi hai uske nazroo mai. Mai toh target hu hi par ab Tushar bhi hai. So let's see…”
(It so happens that as the year's pass, Raghav’s craziness only increases. So in this show, we will see Raghav’s craziness increase as Tushar Kalia is also part of it. I’m on his radar but this time so is Tushar)
