RADHIKA APTE, WIKI, AGE, HUSBAND, WEB SERIES, BIOGRAPHY & MORE

Radhika Apte has dissed rapid-fire rounds in one of her recent interviews. Radhika is one of the most talented actors in the film industry. She has proved her acting prowess on the big screen and digital platforms several times. Her performances have brought her admiration, praise, and love from audience and critics alike. The actress is known to be quite frank and candid in her interviews. Speaking of which, in a recent interview, Radhika dissed on rapid fires saying that people usually ask some ‘ridiculous’ questions.

Radhika was recently in a conversation with Brut where she participated in a rapid-fire round. She was asked questions like a superpower she would like to have, the kind of gift she likes getting, one thing she loves and hates about Mumbai, the work she’s most proud of, one actor from the Indian film industry who inspires her, one Bollywood song she loves dancing on, take-away or dining out, her biggest pet peeve, and something that spends the most money on.

The AndhaDhun actress answered all of these questions promptly. When the round ended, she was quite relieved and said, “Normally, what happens is people on rapid-fire ask you some ridiculous questions, like, ‘this person or that person. You can’t pick like...’ two actors you have worked with – this person or that person? What is this? What are we, teenagers?”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Radhika has a slew of interesting projects in the pipeline. This includes Vikram Vedha alongside Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan. She also has Forensic with Vikrant Massey, Monica, On My Darling with Rajkummar Rao, Mrs. Undercover, and Made in Heaven 2.

As Bollywood continues to encash on the remaking of the blockbuster South films, another remake is creating buzz. We are talking about Vikram Vedha starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan in the lead. The movie is the remake of the Tamil neo-noir action-thriller film of the same name and featured R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. Apart from Saif and Hrithik, this Pushkar-Gayatri film also features Radhika Apte in an important role.

And now, as per a recent update, Radhika has wrapped the shooting of Vikram Vedha. According to a report published in Mid-Day, she wrapped the shoot of a 10-day schedule in Mumbai recently. Talking about it, Radhika asserted that she had fun shooting for Vikram Vedha and also praised Saif Ali Khan. To note, Radhika has collaborated with Saif for the third time after their 2018 release Baazaar and Sacred Games Season 1. “It was a 10-day schedule in Mumbai, and I had a lovely time. It felt nice to get back on the set. I love the energy that I missed so much. I had previously filmed only a small chunk of the film and wrapped up most of my major portions only now. Having worked with Saif before, I am happy that we collaborated again. The film brings together a passionate bunch of people,” Radhika was quoted saying. It is reported that the team is planning to wrap the shoot by the end of this month.

Meanwhile, Hrithik, who will be seen playing the role of Vedha in the movie, has been sending his fans into a frenzy every now and then as he shares stunning pics of himself channelizing his inner Vedha. Interestingly, this film will mark Hrithik and Saif’s first collaboration. Are you excited to see the two superstars in one frame? Let us know in the comment section below.

Radhika Apte who once ruled the streaming giant by starring in several Indian web series at a given time has been missing from the space. Her fans have also made note of it and are expecting her to return soon. However, for Radhika, the actress reveals that the last two years of the pandemic have given her a new perspective.

In a chat with Mid-Day, Radhika revealed that she is now selecting film projects only that make her feel challenged. "The makers, script, and characters are important when you give your nod to a project. As an artist, I want to be challenged and discover new people and new emotions. But above all else, the priority is to seek what’s inspiring," Radhika said.

The actress, who shuffles between the UK and India, has four films this year namely Forensic,  Vikram Vedha, Mrs. Undercover, and Monica O My Darling. When asked if she is trying to strike a balance between commercial and offbeat cinema, Radhika added, "The pandemic has given me a (new) perspective. I felt that I was just a part of the rat race. I did things because they had to be (done), (thinking) these are my (prime) years as an actor. But now, I want to do what makes me happy. I want to learn, and I am gravitating towards parts I have never done before."

Radhika Apte is a very popular name in the entertainment industry. Having been in the industry for over a decade, Radhika Apte has successfully created a huge fanbase for herself. She is one of the busiest actresses in the Hindi film industry. Recently, Radhika managed to complete 3 projects in 3 months. She reportedly started in July and worked till September to fulfill all her work commitments.

As per a report in ETimes, a source close to the actress shared, "Radhika was continuously on the go since July and she took no break till September. She completed 3 projects along with 6 exclusive brand campaigns in a jiffy to stand to her commitment-filled schedule. Within this short time, she ticked offshoots for 2 OTT projects and Forensic opposite Vikrant Massey off her list."

"The most challenging part of shooting in such a short span for all these projects was that her characters in each, differ vastly from each other. So Radhika was not only doing a physical change of characters but she would also have to get into completely different mindsets and mental space while hopping a set,” the source added.

Radhika will next be seen in Vasan Bala's ‘Monica, O My Darling’ which is being produced for Netflix India. The actress will be starring in it alongside Rajkummar Rao and Huma Qureshi as well as an ensemble of other actors. She will also be seen in ‘Made in Heaven 2’ and ‘Forensic’ alongside Vikrant Massey and Prachi Desai.

Radhika Apte is an actress who is known for her unabashed opinions and impressive acting prowess. The diva doesn’t shy away from speaking her heart out and often land in boiling waters. However, the actress found herself embroiled in a fresh controversy this morning after the micro-blogging site Twitter was flooded with tweets demanding her boycott.

This happened after her pics from an intimate scene from Leena Yadav’s Parched were leaked on social media. And while the nude pics have been going viral, the netizens have shared tweeting saying ‘Boycott Radhika Apte’. One of the Twitter users commented, “Bollywood actress Radhika Apte recently opened up about her experience of going nude on-screen in Leena Yadav’s 'Parched' and about the stressful ordeal of having her 'nude clip' leaked on the internet in an interview with a magazine. We demand the government to #BoycottRadhikaApte.” Another one tweeted, “Their movies are so bad that I can't even put a photo video. The issue is that they have spread obscenity, and boycotted them in the interest of the country. #BoycottRadhikaApte”.

Meanwhile, Radhika had recently opened up on her lovemaking scene with Adil Hussain from the movie and stated it wasn’t easy for her to shoot it. “It wasn't easy because I was contending with my own body image issues at the time. So, having to be nude on screen was a little intimidating. Now I can bear it all anywhere. I'm proud of my body shape and size. I really needed a role like this because when you're in Bollywood you're constantly told what to do with your body and I always maintained that I would never do anything to your body or face,” she added.

The collaboration of Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan on the Vikram Vedha remake has generated the right amount of buzz in the film trade. It’s gearing up for a September 30 release and the makers are targeting to take the film on floors within the next 2 months. And now we have learned that the makers have initiated a conversation with Radhika Apte for a key role in this gangster drama.

“Apart from the two leads, Vikram Vedha has another key character of a lawyer and the team is in talks with Radhika Apte for the same. It’s a complex character, with multiple dimensions – that of a wife to a cop (Saif Ali Khan) and a lawyer to the gangster (Hrithik Roshan). Given her acting abilities, the makers feel she is the best fit for the aforementioned role,” revealed a source close to the development, adding further that the paperwork and other aspects are expected to be done soon.

The gangster drama marks the directorial debut of Pushkar and Gayatri in Bollywood and is bankrolled by Reliance Entertainment with Neeraj Pandey. While the music is composed by Vishal and Shekhar, the lyrics and dialogues are written by Manoj Muntashir. Saif and Radhika have previously worked together in the web show, Sacred Games, and also the thriller, Baazaar. However, this would be the first collaboration of Apte with Hrithik.

Apart from Vikram Vedha, Hrithik’s upcoming projects include the Siddharth Anand directed Fighter with Deepika Padukone, and the fourth installment of his superhero franchise, Krrish.  He is also in talks for his digital debut with Hotstar for The Night Manager and discussing Ramayana with Madhu Mantena. Saif on the other hand is presently shooting for Adipurush in Mumbai, and will soon be seen in the horror-comedy, Bhoot Police, which is gearing up for a direct to digital premiere on Hotstar. The fact that Priyanka Chopra is stamping her mark on a global scale, especially in Hollywood, with movies like Matrix 4 and Text for You and shows like Citadel under her talented kitty, makes us especially proud of our desi girl. There really is no stopping PeeCee from accomplishing her 'world domination' goal and we're just glad to be able to witness it front row and center.

Also, speaking of impressing us with her powerful acting skills, not just in Bollywood but in Hollywood as well, is Radhika Apte. Hence, in an EXCLUSIVE video interaction with the gorgeous OK Computer star, while discussing Asian representation in Hollywood, we asked her, her thoughts on Priyanka getting meaty roles in the West. Radhika honestly confessed, "I don't know what roles she's getting. I'm sorry I haven't read the news..." When we told her Chopra was going to be a part of Matrix 4, Apte's reaction was indeed priceless.

"Oh my God! I didn't know she was doing Matrix 4. Well, that's fantastic. Well, that's amazing. I think that's incredible. I think finally! Sorry, I barely read... but, that is fantastic. Finally, finally. That's great news. Thanks for giving me the news. By the way, that's truly fantastic. And we definitely need more representation across the world, not just Hollywood. But this is really great news," the 35-year-old actress hyped the 38-year-old actress' achievements.

While Holi is upon us and 2020 has been left way behind, we are, as we should be, still moving cautiously. Even though the festival does tempt almost everyone to go out, (including celebrities), stars like Radhika Apte are staying in. Just recently we spoke to the Pad Man actress and she revealed to us in an exclusive chat what she will be up to this Holi.

“Holi celebrations will be different this time owing to the pandemic but let’s not forget the happiness it brings along, for one and all. This year, my Holi is going to be at home in Mumbai. Let’s all be kind to animals also while we maintain social distance, this year. I wish everyone a very colorful, safe, and joyous Holi,” she said. Radhika’s statement seems to resonate with many other Bollywood celebrities. Just today Sara Ali Khan took to social media to celebrate by wishing her fans a happy Holi, but by the looks of it, Bollywood will be staying indoors. In other news, back in September 2020, Radhika got candid about how she chooses her projects. "I have always chosen a project basis on how deeply I feel connected to the character and storyline. I have never chosen a project because of a platform," she told NDTV. Talking about her preferences, Radhika shared: "I don't have any preference, I like both theatre and cinema they have their own charm and own things to appreciate."

In a recent chat with PINKVILLA, Radhika Apte got candid about Asian representation in Hollywood! When asked about her thoughts on the shift in Hollywood films in reference to casting Asian actors, she said: "It’s too small right now, to call it a shift. We need to have many more to call it an actual shift. It’s good, It's great to see Dimple Kapadia in Tenet but we need more such opportunities. I recently watched Danny Boyle’s Yesterday and the best part for me was that the story was about a British boy, who happened to be of Asian origin, for no other reason. It rarely happens! Like there usually is a backstory and reason why he is Asian. He could’ve been anybody and that is the world we live in. Tomorrow, I can be cast as a British woman or an American woman and I don’t need a reason, so that shift needs to happen. It was there Yesterday, I was very thrilled about it.”

For the unversed, the film is a World War II spy drama that relegates men to secondary roles that would have been unthinkable a few years ago. Not only is independent film producer Lydia Dean Pilcher's first solo directing gig A Call To Spy a welcome break from the norm, but the film also redraws genre lines to club the story of three courageous women with the theme of multiculturalism. A Call To Spy, scripted and produced by actress Sarah Megan Thomas, who also does full justice to the film's meatiest role, is a neatly crafted, consistently engaging tale of a trio of female spies - an American, a Romanian Jew, and an Indian princess - who worked for the F (France) section of Sir Winston Churchill's Special Operations Executive (SOE) to "disrupt the Nazi war machine".
