Indian family dramas are known for their emotional touch and they do manage to touch the right chords with millions of hearts. And now, another show is set to join the list today as Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei which went on air on Star Plus. The show features Paridhi Sharma, Himanshu Malhotra, Monika Khanna, and Vaishnavi Prajapati in the lead roles and happens to be an emotional family drama that has been creating a lot of buzzes so far. 

Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei started on a jovial note as the Joshi family is gearing up for their princess Payal aka Chikoo’s third birthday. They have organized a grand party for the munchkin and Nupur, Payal’s mother (played by parish ) has a special surprise for her darling daughter which is a special dance performance for her. But Joshi's family’s life takes a drastic turn as Payal is kidnapped from the party. Despite all the attempts, Joshis fail to track their daughter. And while the rest of the family, seven years, has come to terms with the fact that Payal is dead, Nupur still believes that she is alive and will return someday.

In fact, she also ruins the pooja organized to pray for Payal’s soul to rest in peace. On the other hand, Payal aka Chikoo is seen growing up in a slum with the mysterious woman (played by Monika Khanna) who abducted her and some other kids. She has inherited her mother’s dancing skills but is being trained to become a thief like other kids. The 10-year-old girl is full of life and helpful in nature. However, the woman whom the kids refer to as mummy is a strict woman who doesn’t shy away when it comes to punishing the kids. Now it will be interesting to see if Nupur will be able to track her daughter in the upcoming episode.

Interestingly, Paridhi Sharma, who has won hearts with her stint in Patiala Babes, is once again reprising the role of a mother in Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei and is undoubtedly touching hearts with her stint. Besides, her onscreen equation with Himanshu, who plays her husband, is also grabbing attention. On the other hand, Monika Sharma is nailing it in the negative character. Not to forget, Vaishnavi’s energetic entry as a Chikoo the dancing star will leave you spellbound. While the show appears to be a roller coaster ride of emotions with its own twists, Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kai is coming as a breath of fresh air among the usual love story dramas. It will be interesting to see how the story will unfold in the coming episodes.

It’s been a while since Star Bharat’s popular mythological drama Jag Janani Maa Vaishno Devi has been doing the rounds. Not just the fans are waiting to watch the news of the show, there has been a buzz that Jag Janani Maa Vaishno Devi will be returning with a new lead as Paridhi Sharma has been roped into play the lead role in the show. The diva was last seen in Sony TV’s Patiala Babes and this piece of news has got her fans excited.

Interestingly, Paridhi is also quite elated to play the role of Maa Vaishno Devi in Jag Janani Maa Vaishno Devi and even called it a challenging role. In her interaction with Times of India, the Jodha Akbar actress stated, “Many years ago, I had shot a few mock episodes for another production house that was planning to make a show on the same subject. I am happy that I have been chosen to play such a challenging role.”

Furthermore, Paridhi also revealed that her mother was quite apprehensive about her returning to Mumbai to Indore given the COVID 19 outbreak which is at its peak in the city of dreams. “My mother was worried and she did not want me to resume work in this situation. Other family members also felt that I should wait for a few months. I was skeptical, too, but when I saw the arrangements on the set, I felt safe. Also, you have to start working someday,” she was quoted saying.

Sony TV’s Patiala Babes has been one of the popular shows which have often grabbed the headlines for its interesting storyline and twists. Besides, its lead characters Babita (played by Paridhi Sharma), Mini (played by Ashnoor Kaur) and Hanuman Singh (played by Aniruddh Dave) has also become a household name. And while the audience has loved their onscreen camaraderie, it is reported that the lead cast of Patiala Babes will soon witness a massive change. According to the recent buzz, Paridhi and Aniruddh’s characters have been axed overnight. Reportedly, the makers took the decision after they decided to throw a five-year leap in the story.

The media reports suggested the development came as a shock to both Paridhi and Aniruddh as their characters were axed without any intimation from the makers. Confirming the news of her exit, Paridhi stated that while she was informed about the new development on Tuesday, she was also planning to quit Patiala Babes. In her interaction with Bombay Times, the actress stated that she was not happy with the way her character was shaping up on the show and is glad that she isn’t a part of the leap.

“I wasn’t satisfied with the way my track was shaping up. It started off as a strong and inspiring character, but the storyline digressed and my character started slipping around two months ago. I never wanted to play mother to a teenager, but I took up the show for my role. I am glad that I am not a part of the leap, as there was nothing in it for me to explore. Had they not decided to end my track, I would have exited the show myself. It’s just that it has happened the other way around,” Paridhi was quoted saying.

On the other hand, Aniruddh took the decision quite positively and was happy with his journey on Patiala Babes. He stated, "I believe that every show goes through a change after it reaches a saturation point. I am happy that my character Hanuman Singh was loved, as he was someone who believed in women’s equality and rights."

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time that a character was axed overnight from the show. Earlier, Hunar Hale, who played the role of Meeta in Patiala Babes, also faced a similar situation after the character was removed abruptly.

If the media reports are to be believed, post the five-year leap, Patiala Babes will focus on Mini and her struggles with life. We wonder if the makers will be able to maintain the charm of the show post the exit of its two important characters.

The media reports suggested that Paridhi had observed Karva Chauth in real life which caused a lot of weakness. The actress was soon given medical treatment and was advised to complete rest. Talking about the same, the actress told IANS, “Yes I did faint on the set, but that was due to slight exhaustion since I was fasting. I have decided to take care of myself even more from now."

Meanwhile, Patiala Babes witnessed an interesting twist lately after Babita got married to Hanuman Singh (played by Aniruddh Dave). Interestingly, the show will also feature some romantic moments between Hanuman and Babita as the latter will observe her first Karva Chauth after marriage. “What a coincidence it was! I was personally observing Karwa Chauth Vrat and all the rituals and functions were being shot with me for the show. So, I did not miss out on much even though I was shooting,” Paridhi was quoted saying.

Recently, it was confirmed that Ashi Singh and Randeep Rai Sarrer Yeh Un Dino Ki Baat Hai will be going off-air. The show will be airing its last episode on August 16. Along with that, reports also state that Paridhi Sharma and Ashnoor Kaur Starrer Patiala Babes will also go off-air soon, though the last date for the show to air isn't fixed. However, the cast of the show including Ashnoor and Paridhi has refuted the rumors via a video that they posted on their social media handles. 

The entire cast expressed their shock over the "rumors" and clarified that they are very much not going anywhere, but the timing for the show has definitely changed. Ashnoor captioned the video, "‪Our show #PatialaBabes is NOT going off-air. But just coming on a new time, 8:30 pm. Keep showering your love guys, we are still here to entertain you all". She will be hosting a chapter of the series focussing on real-life stories on exorcism. She will be replacing the current hosts Anita Hassanandani and Shaleen Malhotra. For a change, Paridhi will take a break from the lehenga-choli and flaunt salwar-kameez for her new job." It's a relief from the heavy attire that I donned for two years on my previous show," she told the daily. While Paridhi has bagged a show, there has been no news about her media-shy and reserved ‘Jodha Akbar’ co-star Rajat Tokas. Perhaps, Rajat will reserve his time for his wife Shrishti Nayyar now.

"As of now my baby is in Indore, I didn't want to get him here as I wanted to see everything here and see how the situation is around. He will soon be here. He is coming on July 25th to Mumbai. I have missed him terribly and am waiting for him. And once Kishu (Ridharv) is here things will be easy as we are currently working on a 7 to 7 shift. So, my pack-up usually happens around 6 so by 6:30 pm I will be home. I think it is a very good time to be with family and also work," she said.

The actress, who is shooting in Mumbai during this COVID-19  Pandemic, revealed what precautions she is taking in her daily life, "I am commuting every day to the shoot in my car and in fact, my driver is staying in the same building so that he doesn't have to travel much and we have maintained the safety. Maine apne building mein he unko ek flat dila diya hai...This building is safe and there have been no corona cases so far. We go on set for a shoot and come back home. So, we are not traveling anywhere. Also, on sets all the safety measures are taken, as soon as we enter we are sanitized and our temperature and everything is checked," said Paridhi.
