Tamannaah Bhatia plays a crucial role in the film and will be stepping in Tabu's shoes from the original. Nabha Natesh is the leading lady opposite Nithiin, the original role was played by Radhika Apte. N Sudhakar Reddy and Nikitha Reddy are producing the film, while Rajkumar Akella is presenting it. The film has cinematography by J Yuvraj.

Tollywood star Nithiin turns a year older today, March 30, and fans across the country are sending him lovely wishes on social media. Twitter is filled with birthday messages for Nithiin. Even his close friends and celebs from the film industry are showering him with lovely birthday wishes. Samantha Akkineni penned a heartfelt note for the birthday boy on Twitter. She wrote, "Happy happy birthday @actor_nithiin..Wishing you great happiness because that’s what you truly deserve. God bless." 

Nithiin's Rang De co-star Keerthy Suresh also sent Nithiin a super cute birthday wish alongside a photo from their recently released film's dubbing session. She wrote, "Whose Birthday is it? @actor_nithiin's birthday it is! Happy Happy Birthday Nithiin! Hope you have a blessed year ahead! To more foolery and picking on each other!." Rashmika Mandanna, on the other hand, shared a straight face look of Nithiin from the sets of their film Bheeshma and wrote, "happy happiest birthday to you." 

Meanwhile, the Telugu actor's first look from the upcoming film Maestro is the talk of the town. The film is a crime thriller and is the Telugu remake of the Bollywood hit film, Andhadhun. Nithiin has stepped into Ayushmann Khurrana's shoes to play a visually challenged role. Tamannaah Bhatia plays a crucial role in the film and Nabha Natesh is the leading lady opposite Nithiin.

Rana Daggubati is back as the host for the third season of the reality show Yaari No 1. The first episode of the new season premiered on Aha on March 14. While the first episode featured the Jathi Ratnalu team, the second episode had the team of the Tollywood film Gaali Sampath. Well, it looks like the fans are in for a big treat from the show’s makers.

Meanwhile, other than hosting Yaari No 1, Rana Daggubati is currently waiting for the release of his next film titled Virata Parvam with Sai Pallavi as the leading lady. About his collaboration with the Power Star, it was announced a couple of months that Rana Daggubati will be sharing the screen space with Pawan Kalyan in his upcoming yet-to-be-titled flick. It is widely anticipated that this film will be the official Telugu remake of Mollywood's film Ayyappanum Koshiyum.

In 'Rang De, an undercurrent of love takes root when we learn that Anu (Keerthy Suresh) yearns for Arjun (Nithin), her childhood friend who is constantly irritated that he is seen by his father (VK Naresh) as spectacularly inferior to her in almost everything. We are visually/verbally told Anu is in love with Arjun. But the way the story is narrated, we never have a sense of how much Arjun means to Anu. As for the guy, he is facetious till the pre-climax phase, busy as he is carping about Anu in the presence of every other character. The premise not only feels underwhelming but also gets farcical after a point. 

Arjun's father is fond of Anu's discipline and intelligence. This peeves the hero, who starts hating her for being the villain of his life. This is staged as a juvenile comedy and that's fine. The trouble begins when the man-child refuses to grow up even after a game-changing incident. You might argue, that's how comedies are supposed to be. But such a characterization can click only if the jokes are strong enough to leave the audience in splits. In 'Rang De', lame first-night jokes, among others, act as a substitute for emotional heft. 

Writer-director Venky Atluri overdoes the male lead's juvenile antipathy towards the female lead. In fact, it is the only constant for much of the film. When Arjun has to be shown as a lovable man, the screenplay takes help from eve-teasers - not once but twice. There is a Professor whose dubbing artist usually dubs for don characters in Telugu movies. As soon as he enters the scene, you can almost guess accurately what kind of scene is going to play out. 

'Rang De' toys with the narrative trope of one-sided love, which unfortunately is bereft of nuance. This is because the male lead is a one-dimensional character who has not grown beyond his first reaction to Anu getting attention when he was barely five. 

The film treats the emotional issues between Arjun and Anu like silly fights between two children - even in the second half. Even though the man she is in love with is mean and talks like a creep, we don't see the agony in Anu. In 2021, our films are still not done with the idea of showing the consummation of marriage as an accident. Vennela Kishore's character becomes an excuse to weave double-meaning lines around this. In sketchy love stories, unconvincing stretches are narrated in the form of a song. Unless you pay close attention to the lyrics, you won't understand what is going on in the minds of the characters. 

To the film's credit, Devi Sri Prasad's songs are able. 'Emito Idhi' and 'Naa Kanulu Yepudu' sit well with the heft of the storyline if not the mood of the film. PC Sreeram's cinematography, however, is found wanting. Keerthy Suresh is endearing, while Nithin, too, acts well. VK Naresh and Rohini are good, while Suhas and Abhinav in comedy roles could have been better. 

Keerthy Suresh and Nithiin are gearing up for the grand release of their upcoming film, Rang De. Directed by Venky Atluri, the film has been the talk of the town since its inception. The team had a gala time on the sets while shooting for the film.  Nithiin and director Venky Atluri had also pulled a prank on Keerthy Suresh by sharing a photo of her taking nap and relaxing on the chair in between the shots. Sharing the video of the same, Nithiin wrote on Instagram, “Between the shot @KeerthyOfficial relaxing. While we are sweating." 

Well, the National award-winning actress Keerthy has not successfully managed to take revenge on Nithiin in the most hilarious yet sweet way. The actress used a throwback photo of her and Nithiin from the sets in Dubai. She gave a funny effect to it using an app with background music, Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Aaja song from Mithun Chakraborty's film Disco Dancer. Sharing the video on Instagram, the Mahanati actress captioned, "Hi Arjun, here is my revenge ...Love, Anu." 

The promo of the one and only song from the upcoming film, Check is out. Titled Ninnu Chudakunda, the song is composed by Kalyani Malik. It shows us a glimpse of Nithiin and his love interest played by Priya Prakash Varrier. Rendered by Haricharan and Shakthisree Gopalan, lyrics were penned by Shreemani. Shot in foreign locales with a group of junior artists, the colorful romantic number is the only song from the crime-thriller.

Check is set to hit the screens on February 26, 2021. Bankrolled by Bhavya Creations, the film is directed by Chandrasekhar Yeleti. Originally, the makers had plans to release it in 2020 summer. However, the release got delayed owing to the pandemic and the lockdown. It was reported earlier that Check will be an edge-of-the-seat thriller set, which will revolve around a prison and its inmates. It is anticipated that Nithiin will be seen as a convict serving his prison term before his capital punishment.

The film will narrate how he handles all the complications that happen to him and how he uses the game of chess to accomplish his mission. Rakul Preet Singh will be seen playing a criminal lawyer, and it also marks the debut of Priya Prakash Varrier in Telugu cinema. Apart from this, Nithiin has a lineup of films in his kitty including Venky Atluri’s Rang De with Keerthy Suresh and the Telugu remake of Bollywood hit Andhadhun by Merlapaka Gandhi with Nabha Natesh and Tamannaah Bhatia. He will also be seen playing the lead role in Power Peta directed by Sriram Raghavan.

Venky Kudumula's Bheeshma starring Nithiin and Rashmika Mandanna released on February 21, 2020, just a month before the lockdown was imposed worldwide due to COVID-19. Rashmika and Nithiin's sizzling onscreen chemistry managed to grab the attention. The romantic drama had received a good response from critics and the audience alike. The Venky Kudumula-directorial managed to gross over Rs 40 crore worldwide within seven days. Well, the film has completed one year today and Rashmika Mandanna goes back in time. 

Rashmika Mandanna took to Instagram and shared a few photos from the sets of Bheeshma alongside a note thanking Nithiin and the team. She wrote, "It’s already been 1 year since #Bheeshma released.. is it just me or is time flying too damn [email protected] what is up with you and February? @actor_nithiin @venky.kudumula...Thank you for making it special!." The makers of the film recently gathered in the city for the film's promotions and also released the first romantic melody Ninnu Chudakunda. Tollywood couple Nithiin and his wife Shalini were spotted at Hyderabad airport today morning as they were heading to an undisclosed location for a holiday. Nithiin opted for a comfy travel look in cargo pants and a tee while Shalini was seen wearing a traditional suit. The couple was papped as they were making their way inside the airport. Shalini and Nithiin got married last year during the pandemic and the wedding ceremony was attended only by a few close friends and family members.
