Actress Kirti Kulhari has made her name in the entertainment industry with movies such as 'Pink' and 'Uri: The Surgical Strike', now the actress is all set to show her talent as a producer with the upcoming feature film 'Nayeka'.The actress shares about the movie and says: "'Nayeka' is a story of a struggling actress who gets caught in a crime by mistake followed by a cat and mouse chase further leading into a series of crazy events."

Kirti started shooting for the film on January 2She further elaborates on her new journey as a producer, saying: "When Vashisht (producer) first brought the film to me last year, I was immediately on board as an actor and I can proudly say I couldn't have asked for a better start to my journey as a producer as well. The kind of content I choose as an actor is pretty much the content I would want to make as a producer too. 'Nayeka' is a fun space for me to explore something I've never done before."

"It's a fast-paced dark comedy thriller and consists of very young, dynamic, and talented people coming together. Director and writer Ajaykiran Nair has done a wonderful job. A unique script such as this makes for a perfect beginning to my journey as a producer."Kirti has launched her own production house called Kintsukuroi Films, whose first project will be a dark comedy thriller 'Nayeka' and she will be featuring in it.

She explains: "'Kintsukuroi' is a Japanese word which means the art of mending broken pottery with gold. The idea behind this thought is that when something is broken, one uses gold to mend it, making it even more beautiful than its initial broken state." Similarly, with my production house, through the stories, I wish to mend broken hearts and fill the emptiness in people's lives through the art of films," she adds.

Kirti says: "Starting a production house has been an organic thought that has stayed with me strongly for a couple of years. As an actor, the last three years have been very fruitful for me and have got me interested in widening my horizon and delving into other aspects of filmmaking."'Khichdi: The Movie' actress says that the motive behind her production house is to create a more equal and collaborative atmosphere in the process of making a film and also to provide a platform to young talents.

"Unfortunately, a hierarchy does exist in the way things work and I would aim to bridge that gap, embrace and respect the talent brought to the table in all equality. The idea is also to create opportunities for young talent. Be it writers, directors, actors, technicians," asserts Kirti. The shooting has started for the movie 'Nayeka', produced by Ward Wizard Entertainment in association with Kintsukuroi Films with producers Yatin Gupte, Sajid Melek, Vashisht Upadhyay, and Kirti Kulhari is directed and written by Ajaykiran Nair.

A user wrote, “You don't give the vaccine in the veins. It's injected in the muscle. Thoda homework Kar Lena that before this foolish act”. Another said, “Vaccination is given Intramuscular on the shoulder (Deltoid muscle) not intravenous”. A netizen also requested, “Pls don't pass the wrong message. Injection cant is given as IV. So always make sure before u spread any medical information”. In the caption, Kirti had already mentioned, “P.S - pls relax … it’s a dummy injection which we use for shoots .. this video is for fun but also to convey the most important message of #covidvacccine”. However, the video has left many disappointed.

"Theatres are very less of an option right now. People are not considering (visiting theatres). Producers and distributors themselves are not considering doing theatre (release) because there is so much at risk. The world is in such a transit right now that it can really be a huge loss if the theatre thing does not work," Kirti told IANS.

"OTT has become a safer option now and a great option because you get to do what you love doing, which is acting, and people get to see you, and you get to do something substantial without the burden of whether a film would run at the box-office or not," she added. The 38-year-old actress further said: "You just want to do your thing because you want to, and people watch it because they want to. I think everyone kind of gains from this kind of arrangement at the moment."

Kirti Kulhari made her first appearance in Hindi movies with Khichdi: The Movie in 2010. Then Pink in 2016 was one of their biggest successes. Kirti Kulhari announced to the world that she and Saahil Sehgal have been separated in April, after almost five years of marriage. The actress spoke about how she feels regarding marriage and love after splitting ways with her husband. Kirti termed marriage as an overrated concept. Recently, Kirti spoke to the radio show host Siddharth Kannan about what she feels about marriage.

The actress said, “I started feeling it through the marriage… I am not saying love is overrated or companionship is overrated. I am saying marriage, as a concept, is overrated. I can be in love with someone, I can have a beautiful relationship with someone and I can still choose to not be married to that person. This idea of marriage that exists in our society, was my conditioning as well. But through the marriage, I realized… I said, ‘What is it about marriage as a concept that we make such a Hawa (big deal) out of?”

Kirti further added “Yes, marriage is important for the social structure and this and that, but I think beyond everything, a marriage needs to happen between two people. Their hearts need to be connected. I am sorry, but it is not about families coming together. It starts and ends with these two people, and that’s how it is for me. So, I can do everything I want to do, be a partner to someone, without the ‘marriage’ word being attached to it,”

Kirti Kulhari was previously seen in the Netflix film ‘The Girl on the Train’ and ‘Shaadisthan’ on Disney+ Hotstar. She has also appeared in the web series ‘Four More Shots Please!’, ‘Bard of Blood’, ‘Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors.

Months after announcing her separation from her husband Saahil Sehgal, actress Kirti Kulhari opened up about her decision. She had announced the separation on April 1 with a heartfelt note on Instagram. The couple tied the knot in 2016 and were married for 5 years. But they share good rapport even after separating. However, the actress has called it the toughest decision of her life and said that it takes a lot of courage in coming out of a marriage. She is known for her work in Pink.

As reported in Hindustan Times, she said, "It was a decision which was more difficult than deciding being with someone. It is always nice to see families coming together, celebrating love but here the case was completely different. It is a tough decision to break something which you have built with so much love. But the choice of coming together was mine so leaving it should also be mine.” The actress feels she is in a happy space right now. “Such a decision does break you at any point of life but in the end, you have to remember that it was done for good,” she added.

She had written a post on her Instagram when she announced her separation and it reads, "A simple note to let everyone know that my husband Saahil and I have decided to separate. Not on paper, but in life. A decision that's probably harder than the decision of "being with somebody" because coming together is celebrated by everyone you love and care about. And the decision of "not being with somebody" brings along pain and hurt to the same people. It's not easy. Guess it's not meant to be east but IT IS WHAT IT IS."
