India Premier League franchise Gujarat Titans has announced 15 partners following its debut in the Tata IPL 2022. The Gujarat Titans have signed a multi-year deal with Ather Energy as their principal partner. They have also signed nine associate partnerships, including Capri Global and BKT Tires. Simpolo Ceramics and Telco Jio, along with pipe manufacturer Astral, will be displaying their logos on the jersey of the Gujarat Titans. Acko and tooth will be featured on the headgear, while Meesho and FanCode will appear on the trousers of the Gujarat Titans uniform.

Gujarat Titans thrashed Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in the final of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 to lift the title. The Titans also became the second team after the Royals to win the title in their inaugural season.

Chasing 131, the Titans crossed the finishing line in the 19th over. Shubman Gill was the top scorer for the IPL champions after playing an unbeaten knock of 45. The debutants were off to a poor start. Wriddhiman Saha (5) and Matthew Wade (8) could not get going, leaving their team reeling at 23 for 2 in the 5th over. In 48 matches he has scored 521 runs and took 32 wickets. Rashid Khan was one of the three-player who was retained by Gujarat Titans. Gujarat retained him in 15 Crores. Rashid Khan is the best T20I bowler at present in the world. He can also contribute with the bat. Rashid Khan has 93 wickets in 76 matches in IPL. He is also a very economical bowler.

R Sai Kishore was part of Chennai Super Kings in previous seasons but he did not get a chance to play this time it looks like he will play in the first starting 11 of Gujarat Titans. He was bought by Gujarat Titans in 3 Crores. Mohammad Shami is a world-class bowler who can bowl in any phase of the game. Gujarat bought him in only 6.25 Crores which is of course a very less amount for a player like him. He has 79 wickets in 79 matches in IPL. Lockie Ferguson was the most expensive buy of Gujarat Titans from the mega auction and by that buy Gujarat’s pace attack looks very stable. Ferguson can bowl with good speed and most importantly he is a wicket-taking bowler. He has 24 wickets in 22 matches in IPL.

Reactions On IPL Final: In the final of IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans won the title by defeating Rajasthan Royals. In this match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to bat first. But this decision of Samson proved to be wrong. Rajasthan Royals (RR) could only manage 130 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Gujarat Titans achieved the target for 3 wickets in 18.1 overs.

The Ahmedabad-based franchise has officially announced its name before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 blockbuster auction. The name of the team, Gujarat Titans, has been confirmed on Wednesday (February 9). According to prior sources, the team was named Ahmedabad Titans. All speculations have been put to an end, therefore, since a confirmed Twitter account termed “Gujarat Titans” has been created. Here Is Ahmedabad Franchise Officially Named As ‘Gujarat Titans’.

The page’s description said, “Official account of Gujarat Titans, the newest team in the Indian Premier League.” For the uninitiated, the IPL will expand to ten teams in 2022, with the inclusion of 2 new additional franchises: Lucknow & Ahmedabad. Lucknow has already given the official name Lucknow Super Giants to their prospective side. As a result, everyone was waiting for the identity of Ahmedabad’s squad to be revealed.

However, unlike the Lucknow franchise, the Ahmedabad franchise has chosen the name of the state rather than the city. It isn’t the first instance that a team named Gujarat would compete in the IPL. Suresh Raina was the captain of the Gujarat Lions during the 2016 and 2017 editions.

However, in IPL 2022, the Titans will be headed by all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Hardik Pandya also added that if Gujarat Titans succeed, it will belong to the team, and if they fail, he will take responsibility. Adding that his role will be to make sure that the players are comfortable, Pandya concluded by stating that the players will need support when they encounter difficult times in the 2022 IPL season.

“Success is theirs, failure is mine. Our role will be to make sure the players are comfortable in whatever capacity we can help them out. Clarity and honesty have to be there. In good times they don’t need any of us. But the season will test you, there will be difficult times and that’s when we will be there to support them,” concluded Hardik Pandya. The Gujarat Titans side will play their opening match of IPL 2022 against the Lucknow Super Giants on 28th March 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

On Thursday night, the all-rounder led from the front in all three departments — scoring an unbeaten 87 off 52 balls (his second successive half-century), picking up a wicket, and effecting a brilliant run-out with a direct throw — to set up a 37-run win for Titans at the DY Patil Stadium and took his team to the top of the points table.

“I am not used to batting this long,” Pandya told the official broadcaster following the victory over Rajasthan. “It is two games in a row that I have batted 15 and 17 overs. But I like it. It gives me time. I can calculate and take the right risks. I think in the last game [against Sunrisers Hyderabad in which he scored 50 off 42 balls] it did not come off but today I made sure I did. I had a sense of approach where I was ready to take on bowlers. I can calculate and take risks.”

“I have been in this situation where I have taken the role of scoring 12-ball 30 [referring to his previous role as a late order finisher in Mumbai Indians], It is difficult but now at four I can control the game.”

Batting at No.4 has its own challenges, especially for someone who has mostly been a late-order dasher for most of his career. But as he said, Pandya did use the extra time he got at the crease to ‘calculate’ the situation brilliantly against the versatile Rajasthan attack.

Coming to the crease at 15 for 2, Pandya knew the importance of his wicket in the context of setting up a competitive target for the opponent to chase. And understanding that as soon as he came to the crease, Sanju Samson brought Yuzvendra Chahal to bowl the fourth over, just to lure Pandya to play a rash shot.

The Gujarat skipper enjoys pace on the ball but neither Chahal nor R Ashwin gave that to him. They hit the right length and bowled the stump to the stump line. However, Pandya did not fall into their trap. He knew that he can play out these eight overs with a strike rate of 100-110, there are runs for the taking from the other bowlers. And that’s what the Baroda boy did exactly – playing out the spin-duo with minimum risk and going after the likes of Prasidh Krishna and Kuldeep Sen to keep the scoring rate intact.

This sort of maturity is what Indian cricket seeks from Pandya. He showed that batting responsibly doesn’t necessarily mean batting slowly. The intent matters. As long as you have the ability to provide a strong finish to your innings, you are free to plan your approach as per your likings and dislikings. However, finding this ideal balance is a difficult art to master even for any specialist batsman. And Pandya is an all-rounder and this is only the first season in this new role.
