Ian Somerhalder was born on 08-12-1978 in Covington in the state of Louisiana, United States. He is an American Film Actor, Television Actor, Model, Television Director & Philanthropist who is best known for his work in Hollywood cinema.

He was raised in the small southern town of Covington, Louisiana.

Ian Somerhalder went to St. Paul's School, a private Catholic school in Covington. From the age of 10, he became a model, supported by his mother, who regularly takes him to New York.
