Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy’s new Gujarati song “Chhano Maano” was unveiled recently, and the duo was elated to collaborate again. “It’s our second job together after marriage. Being husband and wife, and being friends too, the comfort level is to another level. It doesn't feel like we are shooting together, and whether the camera is on or not - doesn’t matter to us. But the good thing that happened with us was, that everything had a script to it. It’s not how you see it in videos - you have a good-looking location, nice clothes, there are montages, and the song is done. In both the songs that we did, they had a good storyline to it, which we as actors were really happy about,” states Gautam.

Pankhuri adds, “Working together is always a plus. We only worked together once before the marriage, and after that, for 2 or 3 years we didn’t work together. So when we collaborated on the first song, and then this one coming along - like Gautam rightly said, that as actors we are both very alike in the way, as in we both look for stories. That excites both of us more.” One of the characters that Pankhuri plays in the video is a photographer, and Gautam informs that his actress-wife loves clicking pictures. 

“In fact, I have even told Gautam that I really want to buy a camera. Not like a professional photographer, but I love to do that. My phone is full with eighty thousand pictures right now, and there is borderline self-obsession also there,” laughs Pankhuri.

The duo states that they would love to work together in a Gujarati film as well. “Language doesn’t really matter, but we need time to prepare for it. It’s always good to learn and connect with new audiences. We would love to do a Gujarati film,” says Gautam. Pankhuri adds, “As long as the content and storyline interests us, there is no other barrier.”

Meanwhile, Gautam and Pankhuri are already in talks for another project that will feature them together. “There is something in the pipeline, but it's too early to comment. Mostly it will be a short film, and we are trying to work things out with the production. If things go well, then, we will be doing that together,” shares Gautam. 

Television actors Gautam Rode and Pankhuri, who are husband and wife also, will be seen in a romantic music number. The shooting has also started for the song in Udaipur. The song is a beautiful portrayal of eternal love. This will be their first outing in a different language and it will be exciting to see how they portray their characters. The song is sung by Osman Mir, who lent his voice to the popular song, Nagada Sang Dhol from the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Ram Leela. 

Sharing the picture on the Instagram handle, Pinkvilla wrote, “@rodegautam and @pankhuri313 are shooting for a new song in Udaipur and we can't calm.” In the picture, Gautam is wearing a white color sherwani with a red turban. Pankhuri is wearing a white shirt with pants and a black belt. The actress was last seen in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She essayed the grey character role in the show. The song is going to set the mood for the upcoming vibrant festival of Navratri as it is a traditional song. 

Mallika Sherawat, Esha Gupta, and Gautam Rode's Starrer  Nakaab were released yesterday. The show reportedly revolves around the mystery surrounding the death of a TV star. In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, when we asked Gautam if the show is inspired by a real-life incident, here’s what he had to say. “They already wrote the story two-and-half years ago, and back then nothing of this sort of an incident had happened. I had a question too when I was going through (the script), but they told me about the story timing and everything,” states Gautam. 

He informs that the show was offered to him last year, after which he met the makers for a narration. “I liked the story, but I really loved the character. I have never played a cop, and this character is very layered. It's not like what we see in films, OTT, or TV where if he is a good guy he remains the same throughout, or if he is bad then he is bad all through. You keep seeing different shades of him constantly, and keep wondering if he is right or wrong,” says Gautam, further talking about working with Mallika and Esha.

“Both the girls are very down-to-earth, nice, humble, and friendly. I don’t know if people know this, but they both are very religious. For instance, Esha used to go to a temple every day while we were shooting in Kolkata, and I remember one day when I was en route to the shoot, I saw Mallika distributing sweets to the hotel staff. When I asked her about it, she said she had gone to a temple and she was giving sweets to everyone. That was a different side to them which I really liked,” shares Gautam, who hasn’t been very active on TV for a while.

“Yes, it is a conscious decision. If you need to move towards a field then you need to take a break, take it easy and then move forward in another direction. So that’s what I did,” he signs off.

Sharing her excitement, the actress asserted, “It feels blissful to be shooting with Gautam for the first time after marriage and that too amidst the beauty of Kashmir. We are having the best time and hope that reflects on-screen and that people love the song”.

Meanwhile, Gautam is looking forward to the release of his action web series 'State of Siege: Temple Attack' along with Akshaye Khanna. He will be playing the role of an Indian Army officer in the series and is quite excited about his role. The series will be released on July 9, 2021.

Gautam Rode is a former model and actor, also known for portraying the titular characters in Saraswatichandra, Veer Singh in Kaal Bhairav Rahasya Season 2, and Suryaputra Karn. Rode was born on August 14, 1977, in New Delhi, India. Gautam initially started in Bollywood with the film Annarth following a long television career. Rode is all set to make his Bollywood comeback with Ram Gopal Verma’s new horror film flick titled Agyaat also starring South Indian star Nitin Kumar Reddy, Priyanka Kothari, and Rasika Dugal. Rode made his debut on Indian TV with the show Jahan Pyaar Mile on Zee TV. In the year 2000, Gautam performed episodic characters in TV shows like Rishtey, Apna Apna Style, and Thriller at 10. In the year 2005, Gautam appeared in his second movie, U, Bomsi & Me (released on 21 October 2005) directed by Jairaj Padmanabhan, alongside Sonal Sehgal and Vivek Madan. Rode performed the character of Sam Mac Patel a radio jockey who needs to be a writer and a popular one at that. Taran Adarsh wrote of his appearance, ” Rode made his debut in Annarth along with Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, has developed as an actor. Gautam is best in sequences when his wife walks out on him.” In the year 2005, Gautam performed his first noticeable character on TV as Anish Kotak in Baa Bahoo Aur Baby.

In the year 2010, Gautam did support and cameo characters on TV in the shows Mata Ki Chowki, Kashi – Ab Na Rahe Tera Kagaz Kora, Crime & Bollywood, Maan Rahe Tera Pitaah, and Aahat. In the year 2010, actor Actor Rode entered the show Mera Naam Karegi Roshan as Samvad, a guy who tries and spreads joy and cheers in everybody’s life. Gautam Rode entered the show, Parichay as Vineet Saxena, In the year 2011.

In the year 2015, Gautam did yet another show, Maha Kumbh: Ek Rahasaya, Ek Kahani a mythological thriller. Rode performed the character of Rudra in the show who is a “Garud,” who has the duty of saving mankind. The show failed to impress the audience and was completed in April 2015. In the year 2015, Rode entered the show Suryaputra Karn as the lead role of the show, Karna. The show finished in July 2016. In August 2016, the actor signed Anant Mahadevan’s Aksar 2 opposite Zarine Khan. The motion poster of the film was published on 4 August 2017 on YouTube. Handsome Rode performed as Prince Veer in the Star Bharat’s mystery thriller show Kaal Bhairav Rahasya Season 2 alongside Additi Gupta. From the year 2019 to 2020, Gautam has been acting as Abhijeet in SAB TV’s Bhakarwadi, In the year 2018.
