For the uninitiated, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is the sequel to Akshay Kumar’s 2007 release Bhool Bhulaiyaa and is helmed by Anees Bazmee. Talking about Anek, the Anubhav Sinha directorial will feature Ayushmann in the role of an undercover cop. Talking about the role, Ayushmann stated, “Joshua in Anek is street smart and intelligent. He knows his way around people and can fight bad guys not only in a physical capacity but also with his great intellect”. Anek will be hitting the screens on May 27.

In the promo of the upcoming episode, Kapil Sharma is seen seated with Article 15 director Anubhav Sinha and actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Andrea Kevichusa. Kapil teaser Anubhav on his body language as he says that he says, “Maine Dekha hai jab film Tachi ban jati hai, Kamaal ka trailer Hota hai, tab director ka confidence hi Alag Hota hai.” Kapil also copies Anubhav’s posture which makes everyone laugh out loud. Kapil further adds that Anubhav always gives serious roles to Ayushmann, first he made him a police officer and now an undercover agent. Kapil asks him, “Jab bhi romantic movies ka overdose ho jata hai to yeh aapke paas detox ke liye aate hai.” Ayushmann Khurrana and the audience are left in splits over the comment.

Ayushmann had said, “After my first film, I had three films flopping. I packed my bag and went to Chandigarh, and I had time so I wrote a book. It was a stage where nothing was working out. I had made a band, Ayushmann Bhava. I did concerts. I thought if nothing else worked out, I would perform on birthdays, I’ll do something to entertain. You just need to make it work somehow, as an artist.”  He had added that it was his personal journey, and it was alright if people didn’t like to read the book.

Ayushmann Khurrana has made it to the headlines today after the trailer of his much-awaited film Anek was released. The actor is playing an undercover cop in the film. Elaborating on the project, Ayushmann said, "The film is based in the northeast. It's about unifying the northeast with the mainland and not too many films have been made (on the region) which will talk about this. This includes actors from the northeast or their representation." 

The actor wasn't shy to acknowledge the racism the people of the Northeast have faced. Calling it 'disheartening', Ayushmann said, "It's a very, very different film which Indian cinema has not witnessed in the past. We have literally ignored the Northeast of our country and the kind of racism they face in the mainland, I think it's very disheartening. People from the mainland will realize that 'kya Galat Kar Rahe hai won't." 

Earlier today, the much-anticipated trailer of Ayushmann Khurrana's film, Anek was released. The film revolves around the violence and the injustice suffered by the people of North East India. For the first time, the actor will be essaying the role of an undercover cop who is on a mission. It also stars Deeplina Deka, Manoj Pahwa, and Kumud Mishra. The film is scheduled to release on 27 May 2022. This marks the second collaboration of the Shubh Mangal Saavdhan actor and Anubhav Sinha after their 2019 hit crime-drama film, Article 15. Sharing the trailer, the Vicky Donor captioned it: "Bhaasha Anek, Sanskrit and, Vesh Anek. Lekin desh ka jazba sirf ek-Jeetega kaun? Hindustan."

Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the most talented actors in Bollywood. Today, he has completed 10 years in the Hindi film industry. The actor made his film debut in 2012 with the romantic comedy Vicky Donor with Yami Gautam and later, starred in many hit Bollywood films, including Dum Laga Ke Haisha, and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Badhaai Ho, Article 15, Andhadhun among others. Now, in an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, the actor revealed how his stardom has affected his relationship with his family and friends.

The actor said that after his first film, he was all over the place and it was not easy for him to digest the fame. "I think after 6-7 months I realized that you have to give time to your friends and family, though I still try my best to strike that balance it's difficult. I am glad I saw failure in the initial years of my career. After my first film, I realized my true friends were there always there with me".

It has been a decade since Ayushmann Khurrana in the film industry. Ayushmann made his debut in Bollywood with the 2012 movie Vicky Donor, directed by Shoojit Sircar, where he shared screen space with another newcomer Yami Gautam. In his career, Ayushmann has consciously made an effort to choose content-driven, offbeat, and films with social messages, or the ones that deal with taboo subjects. In fact, in his very first movie, he played the role of a sperm donor, which was quite unusual. As he clocked 10 years in the industry, we talked to the actor in an exclusive interview, and conversed on various topics, including what led him to choose Vicky Donor as his first film. 

Ayushmann had rejected six films before he chose Shoojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor as his debut movie. When we asked him what made him go for an unusual script like that as his first, the actor replied, “I think the script was beautiful. And I really believed in Shoojit Sircar. I watched his previous films. There was this film called ‘Shoebite’ which was never released with Amitabh Bachchan. I saw it in the edit it was beautiful. Also, ‘Yahaan’, another film of his got a National Award. So, I was like ‘I am incredible hands.’ This subject could go haywire if it was with some other director. But Shoojit Sircar was a pioneer. He started doing these films. My career path was set because of Vicky Donor because that was the first taboo subject I dealt with. And I carried it forward in other films. So, he set the tone right for me, and before that, all those six films never saw the light of the day.”

Ayushmann further added that he knew he had to choose the right film as there was nobody to launch him. “Because I always knew as a presenter, like somebody who's asking questions to an actor, I could learn from the mistakes of the other persons. So, I was interviewing a lot of stars who were making good choices, and bad choices. And I gauzed that the choice is very important, especially for me, (I knew) that nobody's going launch me. So, my debut film had to be good, or else I won't get another film. So that's what I thought about, so I waited and I'm glad Vicky Donor happened.”

When asked if has ever lost himself in the process, due to the varied characters he plays, Ayushmann revealed that he has the ability to detach himself. "It really depends on how you take it. I used to be a method actor when I used to do theatre. But when I became a film actor, started hosting and became more natural, instead of getting overwhelmed by the character, I used to give something to the character. I never took the character back home. I can switch on and switch off very easily. If the cameras are off, I'm myself," the actor revealed to Pinkvilla. 

Taking to his Instagram space, Ayushmann, the actor dropped a picture in which he can be seen rehearsing a scene with director Shoojit Sircar on the sets of Vicky Donor. In the caption, he wrote, “Day 1. First Scene. Rehearsal shot! It’s been 10 years already?! A deluge of fond memories gushing towards me, reminding me of my days of struggle, exasperation, determination, small joys, and big successes.

On the other hand, Sabbir, who had helmed Heropanti and Baaghi, is hopeful for Nikamma to receive the same love.
