Anushka Shetty’s actual name is Sweety Shetty. After completion of her studies in Bangalore, she started her career as a Yoga instructor. She made her acting debut through Puri Jagannadh’s Telugu thriller film Super in the year 2005. She was cast alongside Nagarjuna, Ayesha Takia, and Sonu Sood in this film. The following year, she got the opportunity to work with legendary director S.S. Rajamouli in his film Vikramarkudu. The movie was a huge hit and she never looked back since then.
The same year she also made her Tamil film debut with the film titled Rendu. For the next 3 years, she concentrated only on Telugu films and became the number 1 actress in the Telugu film industry. From 2011, she has started appearing in Tamil films as well. She was already a well-established name in the south Indian film industry but became a household name in India post the role of Princess Devasena in Rajamouli’s epic film Baahubali: The Beginning. A couple of years later this film’s second installment Baahubali 2: The Conclusion got released and broke all the records of Box-office collections. She and Prabhas have made a formidable onscreen pair and together the couple has appeared in half a dozen films and all of them have done well at the box office.
In her 15years long career, she has worked with almost all the superstars of the Tamil and Telugu film industry. She is also among the highest-paid South Indian actresses. She has also done some item numbers such as "Nuvvu Ready Nenu Ready", "Kedigaadu", and "I Wanna Spider-Man".
