Gurumaa was originally known as Gurpreet Kaur Grover by birth. She was born in 1966 in the golden city of Amritsar in the state of Punjab in India. She has one brother and two sisters and is the second eldest among them. She has a rich family which initially moved from Gujranwala, Pakistan during Partition (in 1947). She graduated in arts from a convent for women at the Government College, but aced the chapters related to life and mastered them. She was always a preacher, orator, and a guide for individuals around her from her times at school.

 

From the youthful age of nine, Anandmurti Gurumaa would put such inquiries before her teachers and others that they would be astonished by her sharp astuteness and profound bits of knowledge in otherworldly existence. People around her felt it amazing that an offspring of her age could put such inquiries. Her going on a pilgrimage as a fifteen-year-old girl where she was in the company of admirers and searchers, was not an incident that amazed or surprised her family. The early teenager at 15 was more inspired by religion and not the other different subjects. After finishing high school she took her heritage in the city of Rishikesh by the age of twenty-four. Her teachings and works have gained a lot of appreciation and have spread far and wide. Due to her fondness among her followers, she is situated in the village Gannaur in Sonepat city of the state of Haryana, were accessible to her followers at all times of the year and where different private workshops are carried out. Her home or the ashram is a lovely place with excellence and exhaust spaces to celebrate and develop profoundly. Her meditation retreats, workshops, and discourses are held regularly at different places around the globe and are open for all earnest seekers.

 

She went to talks given by various religious educators until Sant Dilawar Singh whom she met and was endowed with the new title Anand Murti Guruma and also guru Diksha.
